Paris Hilton split from her millionaire beau, Thomas Gross, just two months ago.

So when the 35-year-old stepped out with a huge diamond sparkler in Beverly Hills on Monday, she sparked rumours that they may have rekindled their romance.

The socialite flashed the gigantic rock on her engagement ring finger but representatives for Paris insisted the piece is just costume jewellery.

The hotel heiress made sure to turn heads as she teamed the enormous bling with a long, flowing black maxi dress.

Her full-length garb included tiny keyhole cutouts, a low-cut neckline and short ruffled sleeves.

She paired the feminine frock with black and silver patent leather flats and matching quilted Chanel handbag.

The DJ and entrepreneur kept her blue eyes shaded from the blazing California sun with oversized movie star shades.

Aside from a pair of jeweled earrings, Paris skipped all other accessories and allowed the diamond ring to take center stage.

Her signature blonde tresses were styled straight and half swept back, and makeup kept to a minimum.

Paris appeared in good spirits following the announced split in April from the 40-year-old Austrian businessman. 

She started dating Thomas after meeting at the Cannes Film Festival last May, and was rumoured to have relocated to Europe to be close to him.

Life&Style magazine cited 'work schedules and long distance' for the breakdown of their relationship, but insisted the pair have remained friends.
