Drew Barrymore in negotiations to host new talk show with Ellen DeGeneres as an executive producer

Drew Barrymore has been in negotiations to become the host of a new talk show.

The 41-year-old actress has been in discussion with Warner Bros TV and Ellen DeGeneres's production company, according to an article on Tuesday by Variety.

Barrymore already has a business relationship with Warner Bros TV's Shed Media as the narrator of the upcoming NBC reality series First Dates that also is from DeGeneres's A Very Good Production company.

First Dates follows couples going on first dates at the same Chicago restaurant.

A premiere date has not yet been set.

A deal has not yet been reached for Barrymore as a talk show host but negotiations have been ongoing.

If the deal materializes, DeGeneres would be an executive producer.

Barrymore has been an active television producer recently serving as an executive producer of the Esquire series Knife Fight and also was an executive producer of Tough Love on VH1.

The actress and WB also have been discussing a development deal for her as a producer.

Barrymore also is an executive producer for her upcoming Netflix series Santa Clarita Diet.

The comedy series due out in 2017 also stars Timothy Olyphant, 48, who previosly starred in Deadwood and Justified.

Barrymore and third husband Will Kopelman announced in April they were divorcing after nearly four years of marriage.

They have daughters Olive, three, and two-year-old Frankie together.
