'Not jealous sir, FREE': Calvin Harris's rep denies the DJ wrote comments on his own Instagram account slamming Taylor Swift

The Calvin-Taylor-Tom love triangle took yet another bizarre twist on Thursday night.

Harris appeared to spill his guts to followers on Instagram when fans began asking what happened between him and Swift.

However Entertainment Tonight reported shortly afterward that the DJ's rep denied he wrote the comments - but stopped short of explaining who did.

All the comments were subsequently deleted, but not before they were screengrabbed by fans and posted on the internet for all eternity.

It all kicked off when one follower wrote - in very broken English - that people 'wouldn't have hated you' if Harris had explained his side of the story.

Two minutes later Harris - or whoever had control of his Instagram account - allegedly responded: 'She controlled the media and this situation, I had no idea what was going on. So that kind of makes it a lot worse from my perspective.'

As soon as followers realised the 32-year-old was apparently engaging, they began firing questions and even barbs at him - and he continued to respond.

One claimed that 'Swifties' will hate whoever is not with Taylor, but he allegedly replied that he was 'hated when I was with her and hated after too'.

A number of people asked him why he had chosen to unfollow and then refollow his ex on social media, and answers ranged from 'cos I can do what I want. Like you. Why do you care?' to 'I cared too much and then I didn't care at all. I am a real person remember.

One follower asked the most pressing question - why was he responding at all - and he apparently replied: 'because I want to understand how these people's minds work' .

His attitude towards Swift appeared to change from post to post - when one follower said Swifties were just being defensive because she had been a role model to them for ten years, he shot back 'in a decade they really should have grown up'.

When another suggested he was just jealous because she had moved on, Calvin's account appeared to reply: 'not jealous sir, FREE'.

And when a third took issue with that response telling him to 'stop being mean' and asking what has Taylor ever done to you?', he is alleged to have cryptically replied: 'you'll never know'.

Yet when someone asked why he hated Swift, he simply replied: 'I don't at all'.

'I didn't leave anyone and she's def not sad. It's all good,' he claimed in another comment.

One Taylor Swift fan - going by the user name @butikeepswifting - even defended Harris, claiming 'For all we know Taylor broke up with him to be with another man and that is quite upsetting. I would be hurt by that too. He's not being mean. He deserves to feel free while he's single and not feel jealous'.

Harris then apparently gave the biggest clue yet as to what happened to the relationship by tagging the fan by name and telling her: 'You're the only smart one at this point'.

Despite the reported denial he was the one who wrote the comments, the EDM star appeared to maintain control of his social media accounts as he engaged with fans reacting to the release of his new track with Dizzee Rascal - Hype - that same night.

Meanwhile his ex continued to pack on the PDA with her new lover Tom Hiddleston, as the pair were seen holding hands at a loved up dinner in Nashville.

On the nail: Harris then gave the biggest clue yet as to what happened to the relationship when one follower claimed he was justified being upset as Taylor could have left him for another man - and the DJ tagged her, calling her 'the only smart one at this point'
