Birmingham is a city in the West Midlands, England, and has long been established as one of the vital industrial centres in the country. As the second biggest city in the UK after London, it is also a commercial and cultural centre, and its economy is an enormous driver for the region.

The city famously has a distinctive culture, history and even accent that differentiates itself from the rest of the country. The locals are colloquially known as 'brummies', and famous examples include John Cadbury (founder of the famous chocolate and sweets company), J.R.R Tolkein, and lead singer of Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne.
