Inbetweeners star Simon Bird has revealed he became a father six months ago.

The actor announced the happy news that he and his wife of four years Lisa Owens are parents to a son during an interview with his Friday Night Dinner co-star Tom Rosenthal.

Speaking to Heat Magazine, Tom was the first to let it slip, before Simon confirmed his baby boy is six months old.

Simon, 31, and Tom were discussing in the interview whether Simon had seen his co-star's other show Flat TV.

Tom revealed: 'Simon very cleverly watched it only after we finished filming Friday Night Dinner, because if he didn't like it, that would have made things very awkward.'

'It would be like me saying his kid is s**t. Luckily, his kid is actually bloody great. He's got this bobbing head. And he's got this 'Simon Bird' slightly judgmental air about him.'

Simon agreed, explaining: 'He is quite judgmental. He's six months.'

Look blooming marvellous in a floral skater dress like Lisa's

New parents Simon Bird and Lisa Owens have announced that they welcomed a son sixth months ago. Simon has admitted he has inherited his ‘slightly judgmental air’, we just hope he’s also inherited Lisa’s fab sense of style.

Pictured at an event here, she looked fab rocking this Zara floral print dress, complete with tulip style skirt, offsetting this uber feminine look with a pair of silver heels to give the look a fashion forward edge.

Tom - who also stars in Friday Night Dinner with Tamsin Greig and Paul Ritter - added: 'He's only six months old but I feel like he's already patronising me. It's great.'

Simon married long-term girlfriend Lisa in 2012 after he popped the question during a romantic trip to Paris the year before.

The couple met at Cambridge University while they were performing a sketch - which was written by his good friend and Inbetweeners co-star Joe Thomas - about a couple having a row.

Meanwhile, fans will be seeing a lot more of the 31-year-old actor in the upcoming series of Friday Night Dinner.

He said: 'This is the first time I've ever got naked in Friday Night Dinner. Obviously, I've done it a whole load of times before in The Inbetweeners.

'It's a scene where Adam [his character] is ill and Jonny keeps giving me wedgies and the pyjamas get progressively more threadbare until they're ripped off by Jonny in the most embarrassing of circumstances.

'There's a lot of male nudity in that episode. Scenes where I have no bottoms on, Tom has no top on and Dad has no top on.'
