After revealing that she's been signed off work with exhaustion, Ellie Goulding is ensuring she's taking her much-needed rest in the most glamorous of fashions.

On Friday afternoon, the 29-year-old singer took to Instagram to share a shot of herself posing in a black crocheted bikini top, which she teamed with patterned shorts as she relaxed on a yacht.

With a black bandanna wrapped around her golden tresses, the star is seen looking out at the expansive sea as a stylish pair of oversized shades shield her eyes from the abundant sunlight.

And the upload proved popular, as in less than an hour, the shot - which also displayed Ellie's gym-honed abs - garnered more than 88,000 likes.

As the Burn singer continues to relax in the gorgeous landcsape, she has been sharing a number of images of herself basking in the sunshine.

In one image, she is seen jokingly playing 'hostess' as she carries a tray of fruity drinks to a table overlooking some lush green landscape and a pool.

The 29-year-old star has revealed the extent to which her busy work schedule has taken its toll on her wellbeing, saying she risked losing her voice for good.

The blonde beauty - who has nearly played 100 shows across the world already in 2016 - told The London Evening Standard: 'I've had to cancel some festivals this weekend because of exhaustion.

'I've done nearly 100 shows this year and my doctor has said if I do this weekend my voice might not bounce back from it. They did a bunch of tests on me and I have been diagnosed with exhaustion.'

The health-conscious star insisted she would only have cancelled her shows if there was no alternative.

She did, however, say she is remaining upbeat about the rest of 2016, despite her setback.

Ellie said: 'I'm a hard worker. I don't cancel anything unless I really need to, but my doctor said, 'Ellie, your voice is going to burn out'. Glastonbury was the point where I realised I was pretty exhausted.

'It's all good though - I'm feeling really positive about the rest of the year.'
