Awkward! Caitlyn Jenner leaves Starbucks with a coffee marked for 'Kaitlyn'...after revealing she chose to spell her name with a C to separate herself from the Kardashians

The barista was most likely a devout Kardashian fan.

When Caitlyn Jenner left her local  Starbucks on Monday her coffee cup was marked with a name worthy of her stepdaughters.

The 66-year-old's paper to-go cup had 'Kaitlyn' spelt in bold black marker as she left the establishment in Woodland Hills, California.

The mistake was rather unfortunate as she had previously stated how she settled on the spelling of her name.

While she was given Bruce as her first name at birth, the former Olympian revealed last year to Vanity Fair that she watched the Miss America pageant for ideas on what to call herself now.

The former decathlete previously considered Heather, Cathy, and even Kaitlyn with a K before finally settling on a name suggested by her personal assistant Rhonda.

She told the publication that she had surveyed the names at the Miss America pageant and was unsure what to call herself until Rhonda suggested Caitlyn, a name she had long had an affinity for.

However, there was still the decision as to how to spell the new moniker.

Caitlyn revealed that she vacillated between using a K or a C but ultimately decided upon C to separate herself from the media associations related to Kris Jenner naming all of her daughters with K names.

It appears, however, according to Caitlyn's second wife Linda Thompson that the Olympian may have had a preference for the name Heather early on.

Linda, 64, recently shared a blog post where she revealed that in the 1980s Jenner 'considered traveling out of the country, possibly to Denmark, to have the gender-confirmation surgery and then come back to the U.S. identifying as female.'

With four little ones running around under the age of ten, she didn't understand how that would work.
