In the latest preview for Ben Affleck's upcoming thriller The Accountant, the actor's character Chris Wolff is seen getting close with Dana Cummings, played by Anna Kendrick.

'How did you get into financial consulting? Cause my dad was an accountant, he had the whole schtick, the dorky pocket protector,' Kendrick's Dana tells Affleck's Chris, who shoots back, 'I have a pocket protector,' opening his jacket to reveal it.

'That's a nice one,' Dana said, as the second preview for the Warner Bros. fall film illustrates how she gradually discovers that Chris - a math savant seemingly working as an accountant - is much more than meets the eye.

Startling discovery: Dana comes into contact with Chris after she discovers a costly error for the robotics company she works for

In one part, she finds stacks of cash and an arsenal of weapons he has amassed while working for a dangerous group of clients that include drug cartels, arms brokers and assassins.

'Who are you?' a frightened Dana asks Chris. 'Why would your clients follow you? You're an accountant!'

In the preview, Chris revealed more about his condition, telling Dana: 'I have difficulty socializing with other people, even though I want to.'

Too late: As Dana learns more about Chris, she questions him, 'Who are you?'

Deadly discovery: Dana gets a glimpse of the extensive weapon collection Chris has amassed in his scary profession

Man of many talents: In addition to standout math skills, Affleck's Chris is skilled with a number of weapons

The preview also shows how Chris gets catches more than just Dana's attention, as federal officials and his deadly list of clients take an increased interest in him, with viewers seeing how he is armed and trained to deal with the threatening forces.

The eerie sneak peek is underscored by Radiohead's 2000 song Everything In Its Right Place, which has also been heard in the films Vanilla Sky and Veronika Decides to Die.

The film features a celebrated cast, including a pair of Academy Award winners in Affleck (Argo, Good Will Hunting) and J.K. Simmons (Whiplash); and past nominees Kendrick (Up in the Air) and John Lithgow (The World According to Garp, Terms of Endearment ).

Human calculator: Affleck's character is a math genius, much like pal Matt Damon's role in their Oscar-winning movie Good Will Hunting

Other prominent stars in the film, directed by Gavin O’Connor, include Jeffrey Tambor and Jon Bernthal.

Moviegoers will be getting plenty more of Affleck, 43, over the next six months, as he also appears as Batman in Suicide Squad, out Aug. 6; and directs and stars in Live by Night, which hits theaters Jan. 27.
