They've proved themselves to be a very modern family as they are holidaying in Greece together but things looked decidedly awkward between Kate Hudson, her ex Matt Bellamy and his new girlfriend, with whom she shares a child, while they were on holiday in Skiathos, Greece on Wednesday.

As Kate, 37, stood by her former flame and his leggy, bikini-clad girlfriend, Elle Evans, 26, the Muse frontman appeared to forget all about Kate's presence as he suddenly indulged in a very steamy kiss as his ex looked on awkwardly.

Both ladies looked incredible on the day with Fabletics clothing owner and movie star Kate looking incredible in a black swimsuit which had a cut-out at the back and another at the front, which showed off her gym-honed figure.

Her blonde locks were slicked back and she sported a low-key look as she let her natural beauty shine through on the beach.

Elle also looked fantastic and showed off her catwalk ready figure in very sexy bikini which had a retro beach scene print emblazoned throughout. Her blonde locks were styled to perfection and Matt could barely keep his eyes or his hands off her as they frolicked around on the sand.

It appears as though Kate and Elle get on very well and both beauties were pictured having a gossip in the sea as they were surrounded by a group of friends - Kate's children were not pictured with them on the day.

Mind you don't drop that: Matt gingerly held out a mobile phone to show his former love something on it

At one point, Kate showed rock star Matt , 28, something on her phone after taking pictures in the sea with it, which seemed a little risky.

Their jaunt to Greece with their friends and son Bingham, five, and 12-year-old Ryder, Kate's son from her marriage to Black Crowes singer, Chris Robinson, follows stop-offs at the Spanish island of Ibiza and St Tropez, France aboard a luxury yacht.

It was during the stop-off in Ibiza, that Kate met up with Bingham's father Matt and his girlfriend, Elle.

Elle and Matt started dating in April 2015 and have been inseparable ever since, enjoying several exotic holidays together over the past months.

SOS! Matt waded into the sea to help his girlfriend onto her feet but he made sure he didn't get too much sun by remaining fully clothed

The model also stars in the music video for Muse's song Mercy, taken from their latest award-winning album.

The former Playboy Playmate of the Week shot to fame with another music video cameo, appearing in Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams' now infamous Blurred Lines video in 2013.

Matt and Kate announced they had split in December 2014 after a four-year-relationship and Goldie Hawn's daughter discussed the 'painful' split in Allure magazine in December 2015.

In one of her most candid interviews to date, Kate revealed the couple 'had different visions of how [they] wanted to live [their] lives'.

She said: 'Relationships ending are painful, and you can choose to carry that or you can choose to reframe it.

'If Matt and I had a great relationship, we would still be together, but we chose to move on because we had different visions of how we wanted to live our lives,' the Almost Famous star explained.

'[It] doesn’t mean, though, that we can’t rebuild something that would be the best thing for the kids. […] We said, ‘We need to try to create something for the kids where they feel like they’re gaining something rather than losing something.

'Being someone who has come from a broken family and has a stepfather, I really benefited from having that very consistent [presence] in my life, and it’s something I am mindful of and want in my life.'

Kate also told The Independent in March 2016: 'I think my parenting style is pretty similar to my own parents. We had a beautiful childhood. It’s not that it didn’t come with family stuff like a lot of families have, but we were lucky and were so close and remain close which today I think is very rare.

'I hope I can emulate a lot of what our parents gave us, and maybe there’s some things that I am not so interested in emulating but, for the most part, they really knew what they were doing.'

Meanwhile, in an interview with InStyle in April 2016, Kate talked about her relationship with her young son, Ryder.

She said 'I was really young, like, 23, when I had Ryder. So, our relationship has always been [a little unusual]. I mean, we’re close, and I am his mom. I’m big on manners. I’m big on politeness. I’m big on gratitude. But I’m a bit of a wild mom.

'Some days, I feel like I should win Best Mom of the Day award. And some days, I find myself doing strange things that don’t have any real purpose, in faraway corners in my house, and I realize I am literally and deliberately hiding from my children.'
