The iconic singer moved to Kenwood in St George's Hill, Surrey, in 1964 when his band were arguably the biggest on the planet.
He wrote songs such as 'Ticket to Ride' and 'I am the Walrus' at the 12,000 sq/ft mansion, which is more than 12 times the size of the average UK home, boasts six bedrooms, six reception rooms and six bathrooms.

Kay & Co is selling a three-bedroom flat in a Knightsbridge apartment block which was once home to George Harrison and Ringo Starr. The flat cost £3.495 million.
And John Lennon's old Austin Princess hearse, which he owned in the 1970s, is to be sold by RM Sotheby's next month for around £250,000.
