Frog in your throat, David? Magician Blaine swallows a live amphibian at ultra-exclusive Google getaway for tech bosses

  • David Blaine was performing for executives and stars at a Google retreat
  • The Camp is being held in Sicily, Italy, where Alicia Keys also performed
  • One witness to Blaine's stunt said it came right before lunch was served

David Blaine could now probably blame bad performances on having a frog in his throat if he needed to.

The magician reportedly entertained elite executives and celebrities at Google’s ‘The Camp’ by walking on stage with a live frog in his stomach, regurgitating the animal and then swallowing it again.

The third annual retreat for the company, hosted by founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, is being held in the Sicilian fishing town of Sciacca, Italy.

The New York Post reports the 100-strong guest list included Karlie Kloss, Pharrell Williams, Charlize Theron, Bill Gates, Gloria Steinem, Alicia Keys - who also performed for the guests - Snapchat’s Evan Spiegel and fiancée Miranda Kerr, George Lucas and Queen Rania of Jordan.

But it was Blaine’s effort during a performance that had VIP guests talking.

‘David Blaine came to stage with a live frog in his stomach, and he regurgitated it on demand,’ a witness told the Post.

‘Then, he swallowed it back. He says he’s training himself to create an aquarium in his stomach.'

The source then reportedly added: ‘Last act before lunch, urggh.’

When asked about his new stunt, Blaine’s spokesman could only say, “That’s all probably true. He’s pretty amazing.'

The Post said CBS chief Les Moonves, Vice’s Shane Smith and IAC’s Barry Diller with Diane von Furstenberg were also in attendance alongside Jeffrey Katzenberg, CAA chief Bryan Lourd and Brian Grazer.

Among Blaine's many other notorious stunts from the past are spending a week buried alive and living in a box suspended above the River Thames with no food for 44 days.
