Vanilla Ice is perhaps most famous for his hit 1990 single Ice Ice Baby, but on Monday he wasn't playing it cool at Atlanta International Airport.

The 48-year-old rapper suffered an angry meltdown when his Delta flight boarded without his knowledge and took off without him.

Ice was mad enough at the airline gate agent but he really blew a fuse when a fellow traveler gave his two cents worth about watching the monitor.

The Dallas, Texas-born star - who real name is Robert Van Winkle - turned on the man and told him 'shut your f***in' mouth.'

A video posted to YouTube, taken by another traveler, showed Ice leaning at the gate counter and getting angrier and angrier at the Delta employee.

'No one called my name, no one said anything, I was sitting right here the whole time,' Ice said.

He was clad in a reverse baseball cap, black hoodie and jeans along with sporty blue trainers.

Voice rising, Vanilla Ice was heard saying, 'No one called my name, no one said anything. You can't cut me off this flight... no one called a final call, nothing.'

The employee was obviously trying to explain something to him, but Ice wasn't having any of that.

'I was right there!' he shouted, gesturing to the place where he'd been waiting all along.

When the Delta agent explained the plane had already boarded, Ice spat back, 'You didn't board me. I was sitting in the fr***n line right here. I was thinking these people are in line to board... you didn't even say anything.'

That's when a fellow traveler interjected, 'You got to watch the monitors, dude, right there.'

Ice whirled around and gave the guy an icy glare.

'Hey, I don't need any information from you. Shut your f***in' mouth... I don't need anything from you. You don't work here. Shut up!'

'Okay,' the traveler was heard saying.

Ice obviously continued to seethe while leaning against the Delta counter, hand on hip.

That morning, he had posted a tweet referring to himself as the 'airport zombie,' which might have had something to do with his predicament.

'I am the airport zombie today. Too much travel not enough sleep. Rockstar lifestyle is not as glamorous as people think. LOL,' he shared.

By the next day, Ice was well chilled after a good night's sleep and Starbucks coffee to joke about the previous day's incident with the other traveler.

'Hahha- funniest thing about this video is the guy that was the smart ass, had a TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) shirt on I told him he's not worthy. #Funny,' Ice tweeted along with a string of 10 smiley face emojis.
