Always the fashionista! Sarah Jessica Parker glows in glamorous photo shoot as she talks about Divorce

No, she's not planning on leaving her husband of 19 years, Matthew Broderick.

But Sarah Jessica Parker's mind was definitely on Divorce, her upcoming HBO show in which she stars and produces, when she covered the September issue of Marie Claire, due out August 16.

'For me, it's really the investment in the other person,' she dished on the subject of splitting up. 'And it's the expectations you have.

As the September issues hit the newsstands, we continue to see our favorite celebrities grace the front covers off all of the most popular magazines. Rihanna, Gwen, Serena, the list goes on and on!

The latest to join this esteemed pack of A-listers is Sarah Jessica Parker, who made the cover of Marie Claire. She wore a gorgeous sheer sequined gown by Gucci on the front page but it was this Alexander McQueen confection that really blew us away.

Ripped from the Fall 2016 runway, the flirty frock had a cold shoulder design and an abundance of ruffles and lace. A black leather corset toughened up the look and really stood out against the soft pink hue of SJP's dress.

What hasn't changed for the 51-year-old is her love of beautiful clothes and Sarah glowed in three outfits for the magazine.

For the cover shot the actress showed off her legs in a sheer black dress with a sequinned bodice as she sat on the floor.

Smoky eyeshadow complimented her blue eyes with her lips a pale pink. Her long honey blonde hair cascaded over her shoulders in soft waves.

A pink dress flattered the petite 5ft 3ins star's slender figure with layers of lace and a black leather bodice painted with feathers.

A third photo showed her sitting on a paint splattered chest in a gown with a black bodice with sequin designs, that flowed into a long black and white skirt as she smiled at the camera. 

Sarah also added her voice to the actresses who are speaking out about the gender pay gap.

'I would like women to get paid for the value of their contributions, not by old-fashioned ideas about gender. Jennifer Lawrence deserves every bit as much as her male counterpart. It's indisputable. Emma Watson is an amazing young woman, and it's important for her to talk about women's issues.'

Meanwhile, the busy star and shoe entrepreneuer manages to combine her work life with family life, sharing seven-year-old twins Tabitha and Marion and James, 13, with Matthew, 54.

As for her new show, Divorce, being compared to her hit HBO sitcom Sex And The City: 'I love the way the pilot episode opens because everyone's asking, "Oh, is this a spin-off of Sex and the City?"

'And the moment that the opening scene ends, and you see her give him the finger, you know it's very different.' Divorce premieres on HBO on October 9.
