'He raised me with integrity': Scott Eastwood gushes over 'old-school' dad Clint as he jokingly strangles him
There may be over five-and-a-half decades of age between them.
But legendary actor Clint Eastwood has certainly bridged the gap between he and his son.
The 86-year-old actor and his son Scott, 30, are featured together on the cover of the September issue of Esquire magazine.
Fooling around: Scott Eastwood grabbed a hold of his legendary father Clint's neck as he pretended to strangle him from behind in a shoot for Esquire
In the pages of the publication the Suicide Squad actor gushed about his famous father and even gave insight on what he learned from his dad.
Scott said: 'My father’s definitely old-school. And he raised me with integrity—to be places on time, show up and work hard.'
As Clint has had a successful transition from actor to director, Scott has expressed interest in doing the same thing as he said: 'Like he says, it’s feast or famine for an actor.
'If you’re not creating your own material, then you’re just fighting for whatever’s out there. I definitely have the desire to go to the other side.'
Family bonding: The 86-year-old actor was all smiles while featured on the front of the publication with his 30-year-old son
Clint posed with his handsome son in a pictorial shot by Terry Richardson for the monthly.
In one of the cute snapshots Scott even grabs a hold of the Gran Torino star's neck as he pretends to choke him from behind.
Not only did they discuss their father-son bond, but Clint touched on several topics including political correctness, who he is picking for the US presidency and even talked about his bizarre chair bit.
Shooting from the hip: Clint was not afraid to let his opinions be heard in the accompanying article
The longtime actor pulled absolutely no punches as said: 'We’re really in a p**** generation. Everybody’s walking on eggshells.
'We see people accusing people of being racist and all kinds of stuff. When I grew up, those things weren’t called racist.'
Clint was definitely candid in the interview as he even talked about his bizarre speech at the 2012 Republican National Convention where he pretended a chair was President Barack Obama.
Dapper: Scott showed off his style in a denim jacket and navy blue shirt
He explained: 'It was silly at the time, but I was standing backstage and I’m hearing everybody say the same thing: "Oh, this guy’s a great guy." Great, he’s a great guy. I’ve got to say something more. '
He goes on to elaborate that he was listening to a Neil Diamond song called I Am... I Said with the lyrics 'And no one heard at all/not even with the chair' and couldn't help but draw comparisons to President Obama.
Clint said: 'He doesn’t go to work. He doesn’t go down to Congress and make a deal. What the hell’s he doing sitting in the White House? If I were in that job, I’d get down there and make a deal.'
He goes on to assert that Congress may be lazy but the head honcho should take responsibility for everyone else.
Bizarre: Clint was candid in the interview as he talked about his speech at the 2012 Republican National Convention where he pretended a chair was President Barack Obama
Though the veteran actor is outspoken when it comes to politics, he insists he hasn't made up his mind on this election.
He said: 'I haven’t endorsed anybody. I haven’t talked to Trump. I haven’t talked to anybody. You know, he’s a racist now because he’s talked about this judge.'
Clint is referencing when Donald Trump landed in some hot water for commenting on the Mexican heritage of the judge overseeing the lawsuit against his Trump University.
The actor said that he understands that the presidential candidate has sad 'a lot of dumb things' but so has everyone.
Clint elaborates: 'But everybody—the press and everybody’s going, "Oh, well, that’s racist," and they’re making a big hoodoo out of it. Just f***ing get over it. It’s a sad time in history.'
