Niall Horan unwinds in Chicago with waitress pal Jenni Burns... after blasting a fan for posting a photo of him resting on the flight over

He blasted a fan for taking a photo of him as he slept on the flight over.

But Niall Horan's, 22, spirits seemed to have been lifted when he arrived in Chicago on Monday and headed straight to spend time with gal pal Jenni Burns at Soho House.

Hitting the exclusive hotel and members' club, the handsome One Direction hitmaker - who blamed illness for his polite request for no selfies on the flight to Chicago from London - chose a city hotspot to unwind.

Channelling a low-key look, the Mullingar native donned a stylish grey and black baseball cap as he peeped behind cool, black sunglasses.

The Story Of My Life singer teamed his casual ensemble with a navy and light grey striped T-shirt as he basked in the Midwest's weather.

In town for renowned music festival Lollapalooza, Niall strolled the city's sidewalk with the pretty waitress, who he met on a night out while touring the US with 1D in 2014.

Displaying her toned figure in a vivid pink tank top, Jenni teamed the look with a pair of thigh skimming dark denim shorts that hugged her pert posterior.

According to his fanbase, the friends were later seen watching Niall's former flame Ellie Goulding headline the famed music festival on Sunday night.

The Irish singer blended into the crowds at the epic gig, shielding his face before passing through to reach the stage.

Although hanging out with his pal Jenni, Niall was previously linked with Belgian student Celine Helene Vendycke earlier this month at Mumford & Sons at Hyde Park.

However a source told MailOnline: 'They are not dating, nor are they boyfriend and girlfriend.'

As he keeps busy across the pond, Niall felt compelled to call out a fan for taking a picture of him while he was asleep on a plane on Sunday night.

The One Direction singer was flying from London to the Midwest city, when he met the fan, who snapped a picture of him sleeping after he declined a selfie because he was ill.

The fan shared the picture on social media and wrote: 'And to sum up the perfect European adventure, I sat directly next to Niall from One Direction for 9 hours on my flight home from London last night.

'He was sick and asked for no selfies, but here is a pic I snapped when he was sleeping lol he was so friendly.

'Talked about Ireland, LSE, lolla and more. Not a British Duke...But an Irish popstar will do. Thanks for treating me so well Europe! (sic).'

Niall, 22, was furious when he found out about the picture and shared the post on Twitter.

He wrote: 'I think this s**t is unreal. I mean if you can't sleep on a plane without people taking photos of you, what can u do (sic).'
