'He's very supportive': Mariah Carey says Nick Cannon is happy for their children to appear on her show… but admits she doesn't know if her ex will 'make the cut'

Mariah Carey treated fans to a new trailer for her upcoming docu-series Mariah's World at the NBCUniversal TCA panel in Beverly Hills on Wednesday.

And the clip gave a glimpse of the 47-year-old's children Moroccan and Monroe playing on a slide with their famous mother, confirming that they will be appearing on the E! show.

During the panel, Mariah said that her ex Nick Cannon is happy for the five-year-olds to be filmed, although she doesn't yet know if the comedian will be featured.

'I can't speak for what he thinks because he's his own guy and we're not together anymore, but he's cool about being on the show and being around the kids, and very supportive,' she said.

The pop diva then hilariously added of her estranged husband: 'I don't know if he'll make the final cut. I'm sorry, was that rude?'

Mariah said that she and Nick are being careful not to exploit the twins, but added that they are already used to the spotlight.

'Here's the thing – they could have their own show because that's how funny they are,' she said. 'I have to mutually figure out with Nick how much we want them on the show.

'Because the truth is they jump up on stage when they can, they're an integral part of my life. I think it should be sparingly used unfortunately, but they should have their own show. If I were like, an agent and I'd discovered them, I'd be like, "These kids need to be on TV."'

And while Moroccan and Monroe are accustomed to being in the limelight thanks to their famous parents, Mariah insists she still tries to keep things as normal as possible for them.

On a day off, the Without You hit-maker says she will 'try to have them do as many activities as they can that aren't just like, the iPad.'

She added: 'We travel together – they really enjoy travelling, and I take them to different places. They've been around the world probably more than most adults. But they love travelling.

'I try to keep a consistent schedule, so whether that's karate or gymnastics. We have talks and they sing and they play music.'

And it seems the twins could follow in their mother's musical footsteps, as Mariah revealed that her son Moroccan is a budding DJ, and daughter Monroe has inherited her singing talent.

'Miss Monroe has a really, really great ear for music and she has a beautiful tone,' she gushed. 'I can't force her to sing, so if she wants to sing she'll sing, but I encourage her because it's a great outlet.'

Mariah and Nick – who are yet to finalise their divorce – welcomed the twins in April 2011.

The former couple married in 2008 and separated in 2014, but remain on amicable terms.

Mariah is now engaged to billionaire businessman James Packer.

This will be a third marriage for the star, who wed Tommy Mottola in 1993 and divorced him three years later.

The new promo for Mariah's World showed the beauty planning for wedding number three, and at one point she could be seen trying on a sparkling wedding dress.

After the trailer aired at Wednesday's panel, Mariah made quite the entrance in a glitzy bodysuit, sipping champagne and perched on top of several half-naked men.

But the singer insists she is not the diva she is made out to be.

'I'm the same person I was when I was a kid,' she said. 'I'm just the same person because I grew up with nothing. I didn't have money.

'I had a very difficult childhood and moved around a lot. I had some things that were amazing and great and some things that were really difficult and sad and hard and hurtful.'

Mariah added: 'So I think that's always a part of me. And I think that goes into making music and any other creative activity.'
