America's Got Talent daredevils cut from contest after THAT horrifying flaming arrow stunt went wrong

Ryan Stock literally laid his life on the line to get to the semifinals of America’s Got Talent.

But the daredevil’s horrifying mishap - where he accidentally got shot by a flaming arrow on live TV - did not get him the sympathy votes he needed to stay in the running.

With just seven of the 12 acts in the first round of live shows getting through to the semis, the judges had predicted Ryan’s scary accident may spark enough shock and sympathy to get him through.

Not enough of a spark: Ryan Stock and his fiancee Amber Lynn did not advance to the next round of America's Got Talent on Wednesday, even after his shocking stunt the previous episode

However, Ryan and fiancee Amber Lynn, who had accidentally misfired the arrow that left him lucky to be alive, were one of four acts to be sent home from not getting enough viewers’ votes.

They were joined by Sos and Victoria, dance troupe Flip, and singer Moya Angela, with daredevil acrobats ThroWings then join them but only after the judges were split on the final act to leave.

Unsurprisingly, Ryan and Amber Lynn’s terrifying mishap again got most attention on the results night - with Ryan showing off his injury, saying his neck got ‘bruised,’ ‘burnt,’ and ‘scraped,’ but host Nick Cannon joked looked ‘like a little hickey.’

‘Amber didn’t think we should do this one, she was a little scared, but I talked her into it,’ Ryan had admitted with a nervous smile.

Asked by Nick about his ‘lively night,’ Ryan said: ‘I’m OK. We had a malfunction with the equipment, but I got out lucky.’

Asked what went through his mind at first, he said: ‘We weren’t sure what had gone wrong, so it was really trying to figure out whether I was on fire and whether I was OK.

‘Once we figured out we were OK we went through the footage to see exactly what went wrong.’

Amber Lynn insisted that when they reviewed the footage the red dot target showed she was ‘on point,’ insisting: ‘Malfunction of the equipment is the only thing.’

‘I have equipment malfunctions all the time,’ Nick joked.

New footage was also shown of the judges reacting to the accident - with Heidi looking like she almost threw up from the shock.

‘It was definitely one of the most scariest things I have ever witnessed,’ she told the act backstage, with Mel B teasing Amber Lynn as to whether she had deliberately missed because she was ‘angry’ at her fiancé.

The Clairvoyants had been the first act to be told they were automatically through thanks to the votes, with Nick teasing them as the hugged for joy: ‘Why you acting so shocked, you didn’t already know this was going to happen?’

‘You are amazing and you should make it all the way to the finals,’ Howie told them, having joked that they were ‘contagious’ as he had correctly predicted their success.

Teen contortionist Sofie Dossi was next, followed by Simon’s golden buzzer pick Calysta Bevier, with the judge insisting her performance of Brave sounded ‘even batter’ when he watched it again later.

Heidi then jumped for joy when her golden buzzer pick, Sal Valentinetti, got through thanks to the night’s 30-minute Google vote, with the New Yorker saying: ‘Win or lose I feel like a million bucks because of you, America.

‘I feel incredibly blessed to be here. I feel incredibly lucky - but I feel incredibly ready to win this whole thing.’

With ThroWings and young country singer Kadie Lynn left, the judges were torn when asked to make a pick - with Simon and Heidi both going for the youngster and Howie and Mel for ThroWings.

That left it back to the viewers’ votes, with Nick announcing Kadie had the bigger tally and was taking the final spot up for grabs, leaving her too emotional to speak.

Previous season’s favorites iLuminate also performed with Fitz & The Tantrums singing HandClap, getting standing ovations from all four judges.

The show is now on a three-week hiatus during the Olympics, returning on August 23.
