'We practice a lot!' LeAnn Rimes on having a baby with Eddie Cibrian and how becoming a step-mother in her 20s was a 'huge adjustment' 

She became a step-mother at the age of 28 when she tied the knot with actor Eddie Cibrian in 2011.

And LeAnn Rimes opened up about her 'blended family' during an appearance on ITV1's Loose Women on Friday, explaining it was a 'huge adjustment' to become a step-parent to Mason, 13, and Jake, nine, at such a relatively young age. 

The singer, 33, told panellist Sherrie Hewson: 'It takes a while, we’re not exempt because we’re in the public eye. It was quite the adjustment, it is for any blended family.'

Yet LeAnn, who started her professional career at the tender age of nine, admitted that her husband's sons with first wife, Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville, 43, have helped her enjoy activities which she missed out on growing up.

She said: 'They’re fun, I didn’t have a childhood so it’s amazing how much they’re teaching me about having fun.'

LeAnn admitted her bond with her step-sons also caused her to reflect on her relationship with her mother Belinda.

She told the Loose Women panel: 'My mum and I have an interesting relationship – like all mothers and daughters… something happened with my stepsons which made me feel like a tenth of what she had with me and i was texting to tell her sorry!'

When asked about how she deals with disciplining the two young boys, LeAnn confidently stated: 'My husband and I are a team and that’s how we have to approach parenting. My stepsons always been super respectful.'

And it looks like she may have her own little one to tame in the future as when pressed if she'd like baby of her own, she gushed: 'Oh of course that’s going to come up! We practice a lot! I’ll take my time.'

LeAnn- who is in London to promote her latest musical comeback with her sixteenth album- also cited 'heartache and chaos' as inspiration behind her new tunes, which she performed on the daytime talk show.

And given her surprising and tumultuous romantic history, it's evident why she's resorted to her love life as fuel for her upcoming material.

LeAnn tied the knot with backing dancer Dean Sheremet in 2002, but the marriage came to an end in 2009 following reports of her extramarital affair with Eddie Cibrian when they worked together on Northern Lights.

His wife and mother of his two sons, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville, filed for divorce in August 2009 after eight years of marriage.

LeAnn and Eddie got engaged in December 2010 and wed in April 2011 at a private home in California.

The singer said at the time of the drama surrounding her union with Eddie: 'I take responsibility for everything I've done. I hate that people got hurt, but I don't regret the outcome.' 

Meanwhile, last month the singer revealed she had signed a new deal with Sony to produce her sixteenth album.

Taking to social media, LeAnn wrote: 'So excited to announce that I've just signed a new record deal with @RCALabelGroupUK @SonyMusicUK & will be releasing my 16th album this year in the UK!
