9 July 2016 – Alexander Albon took his second win of the season to move into the lead of the GP3 standings at Silverstone.
Albon cruised to victory from pole position in an ART Grand Prix 1-2, as Charles Leclerc recovered from seventh to second.
Leclerc moved up to fifth on the opening lap as he picked his way past rivals, securing second by going around the outside of Antonio Fuoco at Stowe.
Fuoco finished on the podium for Trident, albeit a distant third, while Matt Parry was fourth for Koiranen.
Nyck de Vries started a lowly 19th and was handed a five-second penalty for colliding with Nirei Fukuzumi, but surged forward to finish fifth, negating the impact of his sanction.
Ralph Boschung was sixth, ahead of Artur Janosz and Jake Dennis, the Arden driver passing Sandy Stuvik on the final lap.
Stuvik had started from the front row and held second early on but regressed over the course of the race to classify ninth, with Arjun Maini taking a point for 10th on his debut.
GP3's second race will take place on Sunday at 08:15
