Stephanie Pratt has joined the cast of Made in Chelsea – and her introduction to the popular show got off to a potentially awkward start on Thursday when she filmed forthcoming scenes in west London.

The reality TV star has been confirmed as the latest newcomer to MIC after developing a romance with show regular Spencer Matthews, but the pair were not alone when the cameras started rolling on Sloane Street in Knightsbridge.

Indeed, the new couple’s very public display of affection was interrupted by the arrival of an all too familiar face – Spencer’s ex-girlfriend Louise Thompson.

The former couple parted ways in acrimonious fashion earlier this year, with Louise going onto date Andy Jordan while womanizing Spencer quickly developed another doomed relationship with co-star Lucy Watson.

Given the history, Thursday’s ménage-a-trois had the potential to be difficult for all concerned when Louise bumped into Spencer and his current girlfriend, best known for her regular appearances in now defunct MTV show The Hills.

But if there was any animosity it didn’t appear to show as they greeted each other with a warm embrace while Stephanie looked on with a tight smile.

Dressed in cropped denim shorts and a black sweater, Stephanie cut a stylish figure as she kept her eyes trained on Louise and her new man, who seemed delighted to meet his ex.

The American reality TV veteran’s introduction to the exclusive west London set has already ruffled feathers amongst the show’s cast – not least Lucy, who recently dismissed their budding relationship as fake.

‘They’re obviously quite fame hungry and desperate for attention,’ she told New! magazine, adding: ‘Normally I cut exes out of my life so I don’t know what they’re up to, but with Spencer it’s difficult because he’s trying to be pictured as much as possible with Stephanie.'

The couple started dating in June, with Spencer quick to shoot down skeptical rumours that their romance is a publicity stunt.

‘It’s real. We’re romancing,’ he told Now! magazine. ‘She gets me 100 per cent. I really like her but obviously it’s very difficult because she lives in LA.’

Contact shouldn’t be too much of a problem now Stephanie is part of the show, but the pair seemed to miss each others lips whenever they indulged in another PDA between takes for the sixth series.

Spencer’s relationship with Louise imploded in spectacular fashion, with the notorious lothario claiming it was her fault that he repeatedly cheated on her with other women.

‘It’s f***ing hard to respect you when you allow me to cheat on you,’ he wailed at the time, shortly before yelling: ‘I’m not in love with you, Louise!’

Made in Chelsea series six is expected to air on E4 later this year.
