Randy Budd, whose wife Sharon lost part of her brain and an eye after a rock was dropped on to her car from an overpass in 2014, has shot himself dead at his Ohio home, a coroner has said. Since being hit Sharon has undergone seven surgeries, losing part of her brain and an eye, that means she now requires around the clock care at home and will do for the rest of her life. Four men, aged between 18 and 20, were jailed for the crime back in 2015 while asking for her forgiveness.

Being in a loving relationship often means putting somebody else's feelings before your own. But one man decided that sometimes it's best to be selfish as he sat and watched his girlfriend fall off a cliff. The woman desperately tried to grab her boyfriend's leg in an attempt to save herself but the quick-thinking male moved away.

Athelia Blanton-Latta, from Missouri, had a vascular malformation, a large tangle of blood vessels which put her at risk of a heart attack. Even a small cut risked her bleeding to death. She was born with what looked like a large birthmark on her leg (left) but which grew as she did (middle). It meant she struggled to walk unaided and made her mother terrified she would knock it. The two-year-old has now undergone surgery which removed 95 per cent of the growth and is expected to go on and lead a normal life. 'The difference is she won't struggle to walk, will have full mobility of her legs and there was no damage to her muscles from surgery so she'll recover really well,' said mother, Jessica.

NEW Sarah Montoya, 24 (left), had been missing - along with her young children - since the body of her 64-year-old grandmother, Paula Montoya (right), was found dead inside her home in the city of Bell in California. The woman's body was found wrapped in a blanket, but officials have not said how she was killed. Officials announced last week that Montoya was wanted for the murder, and released information that she may have fled to Mexico. She was arrested and booked in Los Angeles last Wednesday.

NEW Brooklyn Smith (left), a 12-year-old Georgia girl who went missing last month and was believed to have been 'brainwashed', has been found with her 31-year-old father Steven Spires (top-right) and his 19-year-old girlfriend Carmen Clary (bottom-right), police said Sunday. Brooklyn Smith disappeared from the driveway of her mom, Salena Smith, on July 27 after getting into a black car.  Saying that Brooklyn was in 'extreme danger,' cops issued an Amber Alert, but managed to find the girl - and her alleged captors - this weekend, AJC.com reported.
