And Gisele Bundchen showed her joy at being home in Rio de Janeiro on Friday on an early morning beach walk with her sister, Rafaela.

Kicking her legs up into a cartweel, the 36-year-old looked to be letting out some extra energy, no doubt excited for the evening ahead.

In just hours, she would help kick off the Summer Olympics by sauntering down a runway in a stunning sparkling dress.

Although she retired from the catwalk last year to focus on her family and other projects, Gisele made this - the Opening Ceremony in her Brazil - her stunning return.

In an interview with People, Gisele revealed that she was indeed nervous.

'This is for sure the longest runway I have ever walked in my life and by far with the most amount of people watching, so it is a little nerve-wracking I must say,' she admitted.

'This is a very special moment for my country and I am humbled that they invited me to be a part of such a special celebration.'
