Lady in red! Gwyneth Paltrow beams in scarlet at star-studded Hamptons benefit after Apple TV show announcement

Gwyneth Paltrow recently landed a plum TV gig.

So the 43-year-old had plenty to smile about when she hostessed a celebrity-strewn benefit in the Hamptons on Saturday.

She was the picture of good cheer as she took the stage at the 2016 Paddle & Party For Pink, wearing a slinky scarlet dress that complemented her slender frame.

A hot pink border snaked around her tanned cleavage as she delivered her speech.

Jewelry-wise, the Shakespeare In Love Oscar-winner contented herself with two gold bracelets on her left arm.

Black ankle-strap high heels completed her outfit for the Mecox Bay event, which benefited the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Her trip to Bridgehampton wouldn't have been too far an excursion: The Iron Man actress has her own lavish Hamptons pad in Amagansett, which according to Variety she and her ex-husband Chris Martin bought for $5.4 million.

The The Royal Tenenbaums star had assembled quite the guest list for Saturday's benefit.

Fitness guru Tracy Anderson spent the afternoon paddle-boarding in a neon yellow and pink two-piece that demonstrated the fruits of her workout method. By evening, she had changed into a form-fitting pink dress splashed with silver embroidery.

Food writer Katie Lee was spotted at the afternoon portion of the festivities. Her high-cut frayed denim shorts and striped top hugged a figure that showed no sign of how much eating her career entails.

Surfer Laird Hamilton rowed his paddle-board around Sag Harbor in a wet grey tank top and small blue shorts, showing off the arms that won him his occasional modelling gigs.

As they day wore on, he switched into an untucked white dress shirt over grey slacks as he posed with his wife. Professional volleyball player Gabrielle Reece donned a lacy black dress that emphasised her athletic build.

Designer Nicole Miller had worked her magic on a paddle-board that hung on the wall during the event - and posed next to it wearing a dress with the identical pattern.

Molly Sims kept her outfit simple, tucking a plain white top into black slacks. She jazzed up the ensemble with striking gold leaf-shaped earrings as she posed next to her husband, producer Scott Stuber.

Meanwhile, celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe wore an ornately patterned kimono-style gown and a set of gold bangles. She gave the camera her best edition of the classic smouldering stare as she stood among Reece, Anderson and The Breast Cancer Research Foundation's President Myra Biblowit.

Saturday's event was the cap on an eventful week for Paltrow, who recently announced she will be hostessing Apple's first TV show alongside Will.i.am.

Planet Of The Apps will be an Apprentice-esque competition programme in which each contestant devises an app and vies for a $10 million investment in the idea.

In a statement, Paltrow explained, 'Developing and launching a business based on your own original idea can be exhilarating, but intimidating.

'This is a great opportunity to be part of a series that lets us use our experiences to help app developers break through and create viable businesses that will impact peoples' lives.'

GOOP rapidly became known for advice ranging from the idiosyncratic to the bizarre, exhorting women to steam clean their vaginas and theorising about a 'Link Between Underwire Bras and Breast Cancer.'

Last week, however, the face of Coach announced her intention to disentangle herself from her site.

Addressing the 2016 Sage Summit in Chicago last Wednesday, she insisted that her association with the brand was holding it back. 'In order to build the brand I want to build, its scalability is limited if I connect to it. So I always think, "How can I grow the brand? How can I separate myself from the brand?" and I think it’s going to be more its own brand.'

'My dream,' she said, 'is that one day no one would remember that I have anything to do with it.'
