Gogglebox's Scarlett Moffatt puts on an united front with boyfriend Luke Crodden after it emerges the star was 'worried she was his meal ticket'

She's become a household name through her work on Gogglebox and recently came into some money through the sale of her book, Scarlett Says.

But Scarlett Moffatt is reportedly concerned her hard earned cash could soon be squandered by her boyfriend of three months, Luke Crodden - who she recently moved in with. 

In texts obtained by The Sun Online, the 25-year-old reality starlet appeared to contact her beau's ex-girlfriend after hearing that he may have been lying about his finances.

Initially tracking down the former flame through Facebook in May, Scarlett's message allegedly read: 'I was wrongly fobbed off into believing Luke had money and owned a home in London etc which obv I found out isn’t true which doesn’t bother as I earn my own money but I don’t want to be taking the p**s out of.

She continued: *My friends and family are just worrying I’m a meal ticked and as lovely as he I just want to make sure that this isn’t true although when I hear things like this I just don’t want the same to happen [sic].'

The concerned ex-girlfriend confided in Scarlett, claiming that Luke had moved into her house within weeks of knowing each other and had proceeded to pay off his own debts with her money.

After hearing from Luke's ex that he still allegedly owed her money from the loans, Scarlett seemed adamant that the news was enough to break them up. 

She wrote back: 'I’ve finished it off with him, two of the main reasons being money and the day that’s two people that have said he told them he loved them after a week, he’s obviously perfect his game playing and will do this to every girl [sic].' 

Despite seeming certain that she was calling things off with her beau, Scarlett had a change of heart as she claimed he had been honest with her about his past.

Despite a rocky start to their romance, Scarlett seems to have nothing but love for her beau. 

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, the pretty brunette shared a picture cuddled up to her boyfriend as she explained they'd been up half the night together.

'When you can't sleep so you go on a ghost walk on a Saturday night,' she captioned the snap.

Scarlett's fans will be seeing a lot more of Luke in recent times as he has moved in with the starlet and will be appearing on Gogglebox with her.

Speaking to Now magazine last week, the reality star confirmed they've been co-habiting in Newcastle for the past few months.

The pair have only been in a relationship since April, going public with it a month later - just weeks before Luke moved in ahead of the Channel 4 show's new filming schedule.

'We’re next filming Gogglebox in September,' she said. 'I live in Newcastle now, with my boyfriend so I’m hoping that he can make a couple of appearances.

‘Maybe I could invite him over as we sit with my mum and dad. I think he’d be good – I think he’s hilarious, so I want everybody else to see how funny he is!’

Fortunately, she added that her family are fully supportive of the set-up. 

‘My little sister is the harshest critic of anyone – if she doesn’t like someone, I can’t like them,’ she added.  ‘But she loves him! I was going to take her to Disneyland for a Christmas present, and she asked ‘Is Luke coming?’ I said no – and so she said that she’s not going!’ 

She later wrote on Instagram: “I’d never felt so content at they precise moment in all my life. Love you @lukecrodden.'

Not that she doesn't have other reasons to be happy, of course. Scarlett has been working hard on her health since the Spring - and her weight loss isn't hard to see.

Back in May the Gogglebox star, who appears on the Channel 4 show with her parents and little sister, revealed her horror at learning she was clinically obese and risking developing diabetes.  

She recently told New magazine: 'I've just started exercising quite a bit actually. I’d say I do HIT [High Intensity Training] about three times a week. 

'My boyfriend is super-fit so it's quite good having him on side because he’s quite motivated. I've got no excuse now!'.
