Tony Blair has been spotted relaxing on a yacht off Sicily weeks after a tearful press conference to reveal his 'sorrow' at the aftermath of the Iraq War. The former Prime Minister, who was heavily criticised by the vast Chilcot Inquiry last month, was seen with wife Cherie on the Mediterranean Island yesterday. Barely a month ago, Mr Blair appeared before the nation's press to make a marathon response to the harsh conclusions of the report.

Yesterday it emerged Sir Cliff Richard is facing fresh heartache following the death of his beloved sister. A spokesman for the star confirmed Donna Goulden, 73, (pictured together as he gave her away on her wedding day, 1961, and together right) had died of natural causes. It is believed she had been in ill health for some time. Fans who watched Sir Cliff, 75, perform in Denmark on Saturday were unaware the star was masking his sadness as he bravely took to the stage to perform in front of thousands of fans in Vejle.

And it appeared the atmosphere still hadn't defrosted, as they were spotted on an awkward family holiday in Algarve last week with children Zachary and Liberty. Adam Peaty, 21, has revealed his impressive strength in an Instagram video after the swimmer won TeamGB's first gold of the Rio Olympics in the men's 100m breaststroke. The athlete filmed himself performing a 'Superman push-up' (top and bottom left) where a person pushes themselves into mid-air from the traditional press-up position. Peaty's footage is shot in slow motion in front of a British flag and the medallist even added a clap (right) in mid-air for good measure.

There was heartbreak for Team GB's gymnasts after self-proclaimed team leader Louis Smith (pictured) fell off the pommel horse during the final. Smith was halfway through his routine when he looked to lose his bearings and dismounted, before gathering his thoughts and completing his action. The slip would cost the team third place in the final, with Japan taking home the gold, followed by Russia and then China. The British team, which also included Kristian Thomas, Nile Wilson and Brinn Bevan, had been in third place for most of the competition. But faced a huge task on the final rotation after being nudged into fourth by reigning champions China. Smith, with a top not on his head, then fell during a difficult routine. Whitlock, the reigning world champion on the apparatus, held his nerve and put in an impressive performance, scoring 15.91 but it was not enough and GB missed out on bronze two points.

The previously undefeated Team GB's women's rugby sevens side were humbled 33-10 by Canada (right) in the bronze medal match having lost the semi-final to New Zealand earlier in the day. The players looked dejected as they walked off the pitch clutching each other in despair (left). But the women are far from your stereotypical rugby players as it is possible to be - and there are certainly no cauliflower ears in sight. An age-defying gymnast has made history at this year's Olympics by being the oldest woman to ever appear at the Games. Oksana Chusovitina is competing at her seventh Olympics this year at the age of 41. The feat is made all the more amazing by the fact that she has a 17-year-old son - the same age of many of the girls she competing against including Team GB star Elissa Downie. But the incredible athlete has proven she isn't just there to make up the numbers, matching her younger counterparts all the way to qualify for the vault finals. So long is her career that the majority of her Rio rivals were not even born when she was a member of the triumphant Unified Team, representing former Soviet republics, at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.

Pictures show the cultural differences among some of the nations taking part in the Rio Olympics after the Egyptian women's beach volleyball team took to the sandy arena wearing long sleeves and leggings. The Oliver clan gathered outside the Portland hospital in London to introduce the world to the latest addition to their family. The tot - who hasn't yet been named - is their fifth child. The TV chef, 41, couldn't keep his eyes off his fifth child, beaming as he gently kissed his forehead. This is the first glimpse of Britain's secret ground war deep inside Syria. A council has been branded 'bonkers' after painting parking bays on either side of a street - and not leaving enough room for a car to drive in the middle of the road. Plane spotters said several aircraft were forced to attempt a second landing at Liverpool John Lennon Airport as wind gusts peaked at more than 40mph. A couple married for over six decades in South Dakota has proved that not even death could keep them apart. Henry and Jeanette De Lange both died on July 31 at a Platte nursing home in the room they shared exactly 20 minutes apart. The happy couple had been married for 63 years and had five children together. Lee De Lange, one of their sons, told KSFY that there was a divine quality to having both of them pass at roughly the same time.

Incredible footage from America shows an 85-year-old woman - only known as Lois - dressed in full athletic garb deadlifting 215lbs off the floor. The impressively strong woman is cheered on by all around her as the camera focuses on her amazing feat. 'Come on Lois!' the man filming cries, letting out a whoop of excited encouragement as he watches. And to cap it all off she finishes with a fist-bump with a friend.

And after years of being left to ruin, Ponty Park in Pontypridd (bottom right) looked more like a supermarket yard than a swimming pool, before a grant helped restore the once popular lido.

A 17,000-tonne oil rig carrying 280 tonnes of diesel has run aground after being blown ashore off the west coast of Scotland. It had become detached from its tug during a towing operation. Stornoway Coastguard said there were no personnel on board the rig and there had been no risk to life. However there were reports of a small fuel leakage.
