'Love what you have been given': Anne Hathaway promotes body positivity with empowering message about post-baby weight loss 

She welcomed her first child - with husband Adam Shulman - this past March.

And on Monday Anne Hathaway took to Instagram to share an empowering message about body positivity, as she encouraged her followers to 'love what you have been given.'

The 33-year-old shared the heartfelt message alongside a photo of cut-up jeans as she explained that she was making more comfortable shorts for her post-baby body.

'There is no shame in gaining weight during pregnancy (or ever),' Anne wrote, alongside the jeans, which had been cut into Bermuda-style shorts.

'There is no shame if it takes longer than you think it will to lose the weight (if you want to lose it at all).'

She continued: 'There is no shame in finally breaking down and making your own jean shorts because last summer's are just too dang short for this summer's thighs.'

The Oscar winner had welcomed son Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman, with husband Adam, in March.

She and the actor/jewelry designer tied the knot back in September of 2012 in Big Sur on the California coast.

Meanwhile, the star recently celebrated the 15th anniversary of beloved Disney film The Princess Diaries, taking to Instagram to share a gif along with an excited message.

'It's been 15 years (say it with me) SHUT UP!!!!! To all the fans who have loved Mia, Louie, Lily, Joe, Michael and, of course, Queen Clarisse, thank you from the bottom of my heart!' she gushed on Instagram last week.

And Anne added a special message to the late director of the film - who passed away last month - writing: 'And to Garry Marshall, thank you for making me a princess. I love you always my beloved friend and teacher, and I miss you every day xx.'

In The Princess Diaries, Anne had starred as awkward teen Mia Thermopolis, who - on her 16th birthday - finds out that she is the heir apparent to the throne of Genovia.

The 2001 film - based on Meg Cabot's novel - also starred Julie Andrews, Hector Elizondo, Larry Miller, and Sandra Oh.
