She's toxic! Karlie Kloss channels Britney Spears in saucy Swarovski campaign which sees her posing nearly nude and covered in jewels

  • The 24-year-old was named the new face of the jewelry brand in May
  • For the new  'Brilliant Inspiration' campaign, she wears a sheer dress embellished with crystals, bringing Britney's Toxic music video to mind
  • Designers Jason Wu, Charlotte Olympia, and  Rodarte’s Kate and Laura Mulleavy also appear in the campaign

For Karlie Kloss' newest Swarovski campaign, the 24-year-old supermodel wears the brand's crystals — and only their crystals.

In a stunning new image, Karlie seems to be totally nude, save for a handful of glitzy rings and a whole bunch of shiny Swarovski gems on her arms, chest, neck, and face.

But while the campaign is brand new — Karlie was only announced as a Swarovski brand ambassador in May — the dripping-in-diamonds look will seem incredibly familiar to Britney Spears fans.

The star isn't actually naked in the picture, which shows her staring seductively at the camera, her chin resting on her hands as her elbows sit on a table in front of her — which is also covered in a smattering of crystals.

Upon close inspection, it becomes clear that she is really wearing a sheer, nude-colored dress, which has been heavily embellished with clear stones.

The geniuses behind the shoot really drove home the nude effect, though, extending the crystal design onto her skin and sticking the stones to her hands, neck, ear, and even hair.

In the picture, which was shot by photographer Tim Walker, Karlie bears a remarkable resemblance to Britney back in her early-aughts heyday.

Specifically, she seems to be channeling a scene from the pop princess' music video for Toxic, in which Britney is, in fact, nude, but covered in crystals as she writhes for the camera.

'Britney said she wanted to shoot a scene wearing diamonds and nothing else, and I'm like, 'How do I make this work?' the video's director Joseph Kahn told MTV News at the time.

Several other recognizable fashion names appear in the Swarovski's new 'Brilliant Inspiration' as well — but they're not other models. Instead, Swarovski cast several designers, a few of whom have used Swarovski crystals in their designs.

Mary Katrantzou, Thom Browne, Charlotte Olympia, Rodarte’s Kate and Laura Mulleavy, and Jason Wu have their own campaign images, as does W magazine’s Creative and Fashion Director Edward Enninful and make-up artist Isamaya French.

Karlie was first announced as a brand ambassador less than three months ago, at which time she said in a statement: 'It's an honor to join the Swarovski family and to be part of the brand's long history of bringing elegance to women through brilliant, unique designs.'

In a chat with WWD, she added: 'It’s such a global presence, you see [their ads] in the subway, also all throughout Europe — I’ve been doing a world tour lately and at every airport and every country I’ve been I’ve seen it somewhere.'
