She's the proud owner of a precious pooch named Butters.

But on Thursday Katy Perry narrowly avoided a crisis when her dog managed to flee from the inside of her car after the popstrel opened the door.

The 31-year-old sprung into action and reached for her dog after she returned from her office in West Hollywood.

Luckily, quick-thinking Katy reached for the dog before she could scurry further into the shadows.

Thankfully, the singer was dressed for the occasion.

The popstrel donned a dark blue track suit, hat, and had playful tassels in her ponytail.

She topped off the ultra comfy look with black and white sandals.

The hit-maker first approached her car with her stylish leather bag and cell phone in hand.

Katy's outing came just one day after she shared a saucy photo of herself cycling on her recent holiday in France on Instagram on Wednesday.

Sitting on a bicycle, the star flashed her pink and purple knickers as her dress rode up while cycling through the countryside.

The singer's Instagram post came after she was pictured flying into Los Angeles with Orlando and his five-year-old Flynn on Tuesday following their recent holiday in Sardinia.

Orlando and Katy were pictured piling on the PDA while on the beach on the Italian island, while the actor ended up exposing his nether regions during a paddle-boarding session.
