Eddie Redmayne takes a break from cheering on athletes in Rio for a sweet father daughter walk around the Olympic park with baby Iris

He gushed about becoming a parent for the first time as 'truly extraordinary' earlier this week.

And Eddie Redmayne was spotted sharing some precious daddy and daughter time with his 2 month old daughter Iris on Friday in Brazil.

Taking some time off from witnessing sporting success at the Rio 2016 Olympics, the actor, 34, looked every inch the doting dad as he pushed his daughter in a stroller.

Casually clad in a navy top and matching jeans, The Danish Girl star sported a cool pair of shade, while sticking to the colour scheme with his baseball cap.

Eddie looked content as he bonded with his little bundle of joy- who he shares with his wife Hannah Bagshawe.

Taking in the chill atmosphere was a far cry from when he arrived at the Games earlier last week as a brand ambassador for Omega watches, the official timekeeper for the Games.

On Saturday Eddie was the guest of honour at the opening night of Omega House, where he first spoke about his role as a new dad for the first time.

He told Hello! magazine: 'Well, it's only seven weeks in, but it's amazing. It's wonderful.

'All of the stuff you've heard for years, it's all true but utterly extraordinary.'

And speaking of the event, Eddie had only positive words for the host country.

'I’ve never been to Brazil before. But this country has such a reputation for energy, for vibrancy, for culture, dance and music. But all of my expectations have been superseded. My wife and I feel very lucky to be here.'

Meanwhile, while his wife Hannah wasn't seen on the stroll with him, she has been accompanying him to many sporting events during the week.

The pair, who married in Somerset back in 2014, were seen jumping to their feet and whooping at the Women's 200m individual medley on Tuesday and at the Aquatics Centre on Sunday.

It seems like Eddie is enjoying his time in sunny Brazil before promotion kicks off for his new film Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

The magical blockbuster, written by J.K Rowling, is set for UK release on November 18th.
