He has been making the most of the summer holidays with his family, holidaying in Sardinia a mere few weeks ago.

And Elton John continued to enjoy the good life as he was spotted leaving Club 55 restaurant in sunny St Tropez on Friday.

The 69-year-old singer and his husband, 53, looked happy as they enjoyed quality family time with sons Zachary, five, and Elijah, three.

Beaming widely, Elton wore a bright blue shirt and matching sunglasses as he held adorable son Zachary.

Clad in a white pirate T-shirt, shirt, jeans shorts and a straw hat, Elton's eldest son looked quite the stylish little man.

And David joined in on Elton's blue theme, sporting a tropical-print T-shirt, white ripped shorts, aviators and a straw hat.

Youngest son Elijah looked cute in a striped T-shirt and cap, smiling as his father carried him.

The family left the glamorous eatery by boat, heading back to the shore after a spot of lunch.

Posing for cameras the family looked happy as they waved at their fans.

Despite being a mega-rich popstar, Elton has prided himself of raising his sons with David to know the value of money.

In an interview with The Guardian in February, Elton said: 'They get £3 pocket money, but £1 is for charity, £1 is for saving and £1 is for spending, they get three coins and put them in separate jars.

'And they have to work for it – help in the kitchen, help in the garden.

He also added how they live a very local life in Windsor and said: 'Saturdays when I’m home, we go to Pizza Hut with them, we go to Waterstones, we go to the cinema.

'I’ve never been a recluse, I’ve never hidden away. I’m on the school run.'
