Iggy Azalea seen in action for the first time on The X Factor Australia panel in new promo as the judge admits her quest for stardom was far from glam

She's the rap superstar who isn't shy of flaunting her glamorous jet-setting lifestyle on social media.

But in a new promo clip for The X Factor Australia, Iggy Azalea is not only seen in action on the panel for the first time but also opens up about her humble beginnings in Mullumbimby before her quest for international stardom.

After revealing her rap moniker is an ode to her family, the now 26-year-old shared:  'I dropped out of high school and got a full-time job cleaning vacation homes'.

Following the less-than-glamorous working conditions, the hard work paid off with Iggy making enough money to move to Hollywood.

'I saved up and ended up moving to Los Angeles, I got a rap deal.

'My dream came true and I became a rap star,' the Fancy hitmaker recalled to the camera.

Iggy knows all too well what the The X Factor Australia contestants will have to overcome to make their presence felt.

The outspoken star shared that she's passionate in doing what she can to assist them in their journey.  

'I want to try and find that person that the rest of the world can see and be amazed by,' she said.

In the short clip, the rapper is seen encouraging artists on stage and gets particularly excited by one, banging on the desk as she sits in between Guy Sebastian and Adam Lambert.

Recent news that's set to shake things up between Iggy and her fellow judges is the addition of an 'underdog judge.'

According to The Daily Telegraph, the new addition will mentor contestants who are voted off by the three main judges.  

Meanwhile, new host Jason Dundas revealed at the David Jones launch in Sydney this month that filming the series had been a roller coaster ride for him.

'I've cried a couple of times. It's so emotional,' he confessed.

Speaking about Iggy's addition to the show, Jason gushed about the Aussie rapper.

'She's cool. I've known her before she kind of exploded in the US.

'She's really sympathetic to people that are unique,' he added.
