Best on our desks: A 'wild' way to get rid of blackheads, a summer-to-fall nail color and an eyeshadow worn by Kendall Jenner top our beauty picks

One of the (major) perks of being a beauty editor is getting to test every new product under the sun. The amount of things brands send to us on the regular is dizzying - in the absolute best of ways.

Because of this, the number-one question we get asked is 'Ooh, what are you liking right now?' The answer? So. Many. Things.

In an effort to make our answer a little more specific, each week we tell you the best hair, make-up, nail and skin care products that crossed our desks recently. Read on, try them for yourselves and feel free to take all the credit when your friends ask why you look so amazing lately.

JINsoon Nail Lacquer in Moxie

'Choosing a nail polish color at this time of year always perplexes me. I'm not ready for the darker fall colors, but I'm also not feeling the summer neons. The muted pink shade, Moxie, in Jinsoon's just-released Dandizette collection solved my conundrum. It's subtle without being sheer or boring and completely season-less. No, it's not cheap, but if you've ever worn a Jinsoon polish, you know it lasts forever, making it well worth the price.'

The Estée Edit by Estée Lauder Metallishadow Crème + Powder

'As a patriotic nod to Team USA, I wore the blue version of this two-in-one eyeshadow to an Olympic-watching party a few days ago. The product, fronted by Kendall Jenner, contains a matching cream and powder shadow in one sleek package. The cream color is highly pigmented but easily blendable and buildable, which gave me time to craft a striking, bold look. I could've easily stopped there, but decided to also add the glittery blue powder to the center of my lids for an extra pop. I was going to a party after all! Due to the cream base, there was surprisingly little fallout during the application, and my on-theme shadow stayed put throughout the party.'

Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Bold Illuminating Liquid Highlighter

'Despite the influx of highlighters that have crossed my desk this summer, I still got excited when I saw this one. As dreamy as the liquid gold pigment looks in the pot, it's even more so on the skin. Because the formula is so lightweight, it doesn't mess up your make-up underneath, which is a major win. The gold finish is subtle, providing a gorgeous warm glow that even works on this writer's super pale complexion.'

Bioré Limited-Edition Deep Cleansing Pore Strips

'My love of giraffes runs deep, so when a box of wildlife-themed Bioré pore strips landed on my desk, I was so excited to use the giraffe-patterned one that I truly considered doing it at the office. I managed to wait until later that night and spent the 10 minutes it takes to dry Snapchatting my nose - no funny filter needed. I know I'm easily amused, but honestly, de-gunking pores and getting rid of blackheads has never been so fun! The pack also comes with zebra- and leopard-print strips of that's more your thing.'

This Works In Transit No Traces

'I love make-up wipes. They’re great! Except my face never feels fully clean using them, so I always – well, I used to – follow with a liquid cleanser. I say ‘used to’ because my new go-to wipes from This Works are not your average wipes. The rose water-infused pads remove make-up (except stubborn waterproof mascara) and grime, leaving skin feeling legitimately squeaky clean, but never tight and dry. What I love most about these multi-tasking wipes, however, is that they are so refreshing. After a long day or a tough workout? Heaven. It’s no wonder Kim Kardashian is a fan too.'
