'This is some made up BS': Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins fires back after open letter slams superhero movie as 'another mess'

Patty Jenkins invoked the 'lasso of truth' while firing back after an anonymous letter called her Wonder Woman movie 'another mess' from Warner Bros.

The 45-year-old director took to Twitter on Friday in response to the open letter blasting the studio and its CEO Kevin Tsujihara that circulated on Thursday.

'Woah, just saw this press about WW having problems. Are they serious? This is some made up bs right here. Made up! Produce a source, anyone,' Jenkins wrote to her more than 16,000 followers on Twitter.

Firing back: Patty Jenkins, shown last month at San Diego Comic-Con, took to Twitter in response to an anonymous letter claiming her Wonder Woman movie was 'another mess'

She fired off five tweets in response to the open letter that blamed Tsujihara, 51, for 'completely whiffing' on Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

The anonymous letter was purportedly written by a former Warner Bros employee and chided Tsujihara for his handling of DC Comics films as well as Jupiter Ascending, Max, Vacation, Pan and Point Break.

'What are you even doing? I wish to God you were forced to live out of a car until you made a #1 movie of the year. Maybe Wonder Woman wouldn't be such a mess. Don't try to hide behind the great trailer. People inside are already confirming it's another mess,' the letter said.

Jenkins, who wrote and directed Monster in 2003, disputed the open letter and tweeted: 'Don't believe the hype people. Someone's trying to spread some serious misinfo.'

'Zero about the movie we are making has been called a mess by anyone in the know. Fact,' she also tweeted.

'Real lasso of truth, time, will reveal that letter to be false soon enough. But lame something so transparent in its agenda gets traction,' Jenkins added.

The lasso of truth is a weapon used by Wonder Woman that forces anyone captured by it to obey and tell the truth.

Suicide Squad despite scathing reviews from critics opened last week at the top of the North American box office with haul of $133.7 million.

The film starring Will Smith, Jared Leto and Margot Robbie topped the weekend box office again on Sunday with an estimated $43.8 million.

That figure was a nasty 67 percent drop from its opening weekend and mirrored the drop-off experienced in March by Batman v Superman, which was also skewered by critics.
