But she has hit back at 'haters' claiming she should not compete as her fans posted the hashtags #HandsOffCaster and #GoCaster on social media. And Semenya has taken to Instagram to goad her detractors, saying: 'Dear Haters, I have so much more for you to be mad at. Just be patient.'

Australia's first transgender person, Edward De Lacy Evans (left) was discovered to be a woman after staff at a lunatic asylum undressed him to bathe. She had lived as a man for decades. Evans arrived in Australia in 1856 on board a ship from Ireland. After initially living as a woman and working as a maid, he started dressing as a man. He went on to marry three times (he is pictured right with his third wife Julia Marquand) and was registered as a father to one child.

A video purporting to show the elusive Sasquatch in some grassy woods in Oregon has caused quite a stir online, after it was shared by the Bigfoot Encounters YouTube channel. According to the description alongside the clip, a man strapped a GoPro camera to his pet pooch and filmed the sighting in 2015. The clip reemerged this week after being posted by Viral Nova, with many theorists coming forward with their opinions. The short video shows a dog walking through the grassy woods when a figure suddenly works by. It stands up on two legs like a human but also appears to be hairy and ape-like.

The NSW rail network has issued alarming CCTV footage of slips, trips and falls on train station platforms after recording thousands of accidents in the past year. In one clip a boy holding his mother's hand as they board the train falls in the gap (right), while another vision shows a running man sent sprawling with his legs caught between the carriage and platform (left). The state government is urging commuters to be more cautious after recording 1,800 incidents in the last year - including a 9 per cent rise in accidents involving minors.

Mataio Jordan Aleluia admitted to killing Brittany Harvie (left and right), who was found dead in a car (inset) in Kelly Park Reserve in Clayton, south-east of Melbourne in June last year. The Supreme Court heard he had pleaded guilty to manslaughter but claimed he did not intend to murder the 22-year-old woman. Aleluia paused to have a cigarette break as he brutally bashed a mother-of-two to death after he thought she was cheating on him.

The two other winners' broad smiles contrasted dramatically with Ri's look of disappointment. A young Arkansas girl who was reportedly zip-tied to furniture and repeatedly beaten by her mother's live-in boyfriend has been taken into state custody. Police in Hot Springs arrested Jennifer Denen (top right), 30, and her boyfriend Clarence Reed (bottom right), 47, on Friday after an examination of the girl found that she was covered in bruises and scars and had dried blood in her mouth (on left with what appears to be ligature marks on her wrist). When the 4-year-old was asked by authorities to give her name, she replied 'Idiot.'

A teenage bodybuilder has fallen victim to a malicious pornography sharing forum after her social media photographs emerged on the vile website. Queensland model Tiahna Prosser (pictured) has amassed nearly 8,000 Instagram followers for her bikini-clad, gym-tone body images she uploads ahead of competitions. The 18-year-old competitive bodybuilder was outraged when she discovered 'bonus points' were being offered to anyone who could find nude pictures of her. 

Sam Delemege, the wife of former NRL boss Max Delemege, 72, who is 40 years her senior, has opened up about the desperate lengths she's gone to in order to have a baby. In a candid blog post about her IVF journey (right), Ms Delmege, (left of left and left of inset) from the Gold Coast, spoke of how her excitement turned to heartbreak when it became clear her latest bid for a family with husband (right of left and right of inset) had failed.

NEW A teenager dubbed the 'oldest woman in Asia' has died aged 19 from the rare condition that aged her body ten times faster than normal. Ana Rocelle from the Philipines died last week, according to US-based charity Progeria Reaearch Foundation, who campaigns for sufferers of the condition. Two years before her death, doctors described Ana as looking like a 136-year-old with pronounced wrinkles from her face to her feet.

Kayley Chabot, from Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada, was just 15 years old when she was signed by Ford Models in New York - the renowned agency which has discovered the likes of Christy Turlington,Christie Brinkley and Naomi Campbell. But far from the glamorous lifestyle she imagined, Kayley, now 19, said she was constantly made to feel 'fat' and even developed a fear of drinking water. She said: 'But when I got there the agency was shocked at my size. My hips were 37.5 inches and they needed to be 2.5 inches smaller.'

One user wrote: 'Fake hair, fake nails, fake breasts, is all I see', while Mike Chaney added: 'Another office lizard with fake breasts trying to poses as a so-called 'expert'... The only thing she is an expert on is silicon implants... LOL.' She was forced to film a YouTube video hitting back at the trolls, right.

Photographer Tapan Sheth, 37, who captured the incredible photos in Rajkot, India, said the frog became a snack for the snake after it came out of hiding from the rain. He was on a photography tour and reacted fast enough to capture the remarkable - and equally revolting - scene. His series of photos shows the doomed frog in the snake's jaws before it disappears as it is swallowed whole.
