A crafty father has solved an age-old dilemma plaguing girls across the globe.

Armed with his trusty vacuum cleaner, the Austrian dad shows his daughters how to easily untangle the matted hair of their favourite dolls.

In a video showing his ingenuity, he straightens and ties the dolls' hair in a matter of seconds – turning his girls’ frustrated screams into smiles.

The video starts with his two young daughters struggling in vain to brush the hair of their Barbie dolls.

They become increasingly frustrated trying to untangle the mess, eventually reaching breaking point and screaming out for help.

At this point, Dad bursts in to the rescue, striking his best superhero pose as he cradles the vacuum under his arm.

Dad flicks on the vacuum and hoovers the hair of his first daughter’s doll.

As the vacuum stretches the hair, he flicks a rubber band off the nozzle and ties it into a tidy ponytail.

He repeats the procedure with his next daughter, who grins in surprise at the simple fix.

The dad finishes the video by smiling at the camera, no doubt relieved to be finishing his day with a bit of peace and quiet.
