'I've outgrown the relationship': Chrisley Knows Best star Lindsie Chrisley announces divorce with husband Will Campbell

Lindsie Chrisley has announced she is in the process of divorcing her husband of four years.

The 26-year-old reality television star revealed to People on Wednesday that she and Will Campbell are divorcing as they have grown apart.

She told the weekly: 'He was my first love. We got together when we were 19 years old, and over time we grew separately in different directions instead of together.'

'I feel like I've become more independent, I've come more into myself, I'm more confident with myself and I just don't feel that relationship gives me what I need anymore. I've outgrown the relationship.'

The two were married in 2012 despite some tension with the Chrisley family, especially with her father Todd who was not thrilled with the wedding.

Lindsie and Will share a three-year-old son named Jackson together as she insists the youngster will be their main focus.

She explained: 'We're not fighting – unfortunately it is what it is, and we truly just want to come together and make it the best situation for our child and families and move forward with our lives'

The blonde beauty revealed to the weekly that she and Will have been separated for about two years but tried to make it work for the sake of their child.

However Will will appear on the new season of Chrisley Knows Best as he tries to build a relationship with star of the series, Todd, and the rest of the family.

People reports that the divorce does get covered toward the end of the season but Lindsie insists that she doesn't regret it.

She said: 'I take nothing negative from that experience because that's where I was at the time.

'I feel like I had been struggling with this decision for a long time, and I didn't want to make an immature decision on the spur of the moment.'

She had hoped things would get better between the father of her only child and her family but it 'wasn't where it needed to be.'

Lindsie did tell the publication that Will and Todd are in a better place and have found 'an understanding and both respect each other' for the sake of young Jackson.

Todd told People: 'Going through a divorce myself, and Lindsie being a product of divorce, the conversations that she and I have had have been solely geared on how to protect Jackson and to let him know that his circle of love is just going to become larger.'

Season 4 of Chrisley Knows Best airs Tuesday nights at 10pm on the USA Network.
