Match #1 | |||
Matt Hardy | def. | Gregory Helms | via Pinfall (13:08) |
Notes: This was a great match to start the show. It built to a fast pace, and then the near falls were fast and furious. The referee ducked out of the way, and Helms tried to kick Hardy in the junkular region. Hardy blocked and countered with the Twist of Fate to put Helms down. Kudos to both competitors.
Match #2 - WWE Tag Team Championship
Paul London & Brian Kendrick Champions w/Ashley Massaro |
def. | K.C. James & Idol Stevens Challengers w/Michelle McCool |
via Pinfall (9:37) |
Notes: Kendrick pinned James. Decent enough of a match, I suppose. I'm a little ambivalent since I don't really care for either team. I think my favorite here is Ms. McCool. But Kendrick and London have some unbelievable moves, I'll give them that.
IN RING: GM Theodore Long brought out the Miz. It was the Miz's birthday, and there was a large boxed present in the ring. Layla El then came out, and started giving Miz a lap dance. After a few moments, she blindfolded Miz. The large box was then raised, revealing Big Dick Johnson. BDJ did some dancing in front of Miz, and Miz even grabbed BDJ's man-boobs. What fun. Then Cole fake-laughed for 5 minutes.
Match #3 | |||
Montel Vontavious Porter | def. | Marty Garner | via Pinfall (2:30) |
Notes: MVP made his pay-per-view debut against the feared and truly menacing Marty Garner. I guess he's some indy dude. MVP basically toyed with Garner, and then finished him off. MVP's entrance is kind of funny, having one of those inflatable tunnels and all.
Match #4 | |||
Ken Kennedy | def. | The Undertaker | via DQ (20:33) |
Notes: Some pretty good action here, but nothing terribly new or ground-breaking. Mr. Kennedy connected with the Kenton Bomb, but the Undertaker kicked out. Kennedy then went and grabbed the U.S. title, and brought it into the ring. He and the ref struggled with it, and when Ken turned around, Undertaker punched him. 'Taker ended up using the belt on Kennedy causing the DQ. 'Taker was upset, and Tombstoned both Kennedy and the ref.
Match #5 - Falls Count Anywhere Match
Rey Mysterio | def. | Chavo Guerrero w/Vickie Guerrero |
via Pinfall (12:09) |
Notes: Another chapter in this feud that I don't really care about.
Match #6 | |||
Chris Benoit | def. | William Regal | via Submission (11:16) |
Notes: Earlier in the evening, GM Long informed Regal that he was being booked into a match. Regal came to the ring, unsure of his opponent. It was Benoit, making his return. Interesting match, and I mean that in a good way. They did some moves I don't think I've seen before. Outstanding match.
Match #7 - World Heavyweight Championship - Fatal Four-Way Match
King Booker Champion w/Queen Sharmell |
def. | Dave Batista Bobby Lashley Finlay Challengers |
via Pinfall (16:53) |
Notes: Booker pinned Finlay. Batista laid out everyone with spinebusters, and even delivered the Batista Bomb to Finlay. Lashley came out of nowhere and speared Batista, and Booker crawled over and pinned Finlay. OK match. The reign of King Booker the T continues. |
