Something to smile about! The cast of Stranger Things look as excited as fans are about the news that Netflix smash will be back for a second season

The may once again have to face the Demogorgon monster, but these young actors could not be happier.

On Wednesday it was revealed Stranger Things will be back for a second season - and its cast could not be more excited.

Gaten Matarazzo, 13, Noah Schnapp, 11, Caleb McLaughlin, 12, Natalia Dyer, 19, Millie Bobby Brown, 12, and Finn Wolfhard, 13, hit the promotional trail stopping at first at the AOL Build Speaker Series in New York City on Wednesday.

The excited young stars revealed they, like the fans, have their own theories about the what lead up to a monster getting unleashed on a tiny Indiana town, so are excited to be returning to actually find out.

There are also lots of theories swirling around the mysterious young girl Eleven as to whether she is stuck in the so-called Upside Down and where she came from.

While it may be her character, Millie Bobby Brown, revealed she does not have the answers to all the questions about the psychokinetic girl.

The Spanish-born British actress looked darling in light wash denim overalls with her hair starting to grow out after it was shaved off for the show.

The star's also did a Facebook Live chat with fans where they sweetly failed at an Eighties trivia quiz.

Despite the show being based in the 1980s, all the stars were born in the Nineties so did not even know who Rainbow Brite was.

The did, however, watch some classic films from the time and claimed that The Goonies, ET, Stand By Me, Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles were their favourites.

Millie revealed she was told to relate her character to ET. 

While Eleven's fate remains up in the air, all will be confirmed next year when the series returns - this time with nine episodes and some new faces in the supernatural thriller.

Noah, who played Will, will also get some more television time after he spent so much time in the terrifying Upside Down.

According to TMZ, the 11-year-old may have not been in the show much - he appeared briefly in four of the eight episodes - but got $10,000 an episode and was guaranteed five episodes, so collected a $50,000 paycheck.

This time, the site reports, he will get $20,000 an episode.

The popular show stars Winona Ryder who plays Joyce, a working-class single mother whose young son disappears in 1980s Indiana.

The show - which debuted on the streaming service on July 15 - was created by twin brothers Matt & Ross Duffer (Wayward Pines). 

With its nostalgia for a bygone time pre cell phones and computer games, and with a soundtrack of oldies but goodies, the series won over fans in quick order.

It turns out that work on the second season has actually been underway for quite some time, according to Variety

And creators Matt and Ross Duffer spoke about their plans for a follow-up at the TCA press tour in July.

They explained how 'there’s a bigger mythology' to explore as well as following on from all the 'dangling threads' left loose at the end of the first season.

The Duffers revealed to EW.com that there will be four new characters and 'a lot of new and interesting dynamics that we didn’t see in season 1.'
