She recently admitted to struggling with body confidence issues as she approaches her milestone 50th birthday.

But Salma Hayek proved she had a figure most women half her age could only dream of as she posed in a bikini in a fun Instagram snap on Wednesday.

Reclining in her swimming pool on a giant inflatable swan, the actress, 49, displayed her ample assets and toned curves in a skimpy magenta two-piece while soaking up the sun in the garden of her Los Angeles home.

The Mexican star went make-up free and had her dark locks splayed out in the picturesque snap, closing her eyes while someone swam underneath her.

Earlier this week, the Frida actress uploaded a similar picture of her mini-me daughter Valentina Paloma, nine, soaking up the sun on an inflatable flamingo.

Salma's snaps come after she revealed she has 'up and down' days when it comes to her body confidence as she nears 50.  

In a recent interview with InStyle UK, the mother-of-one spoke candidly about her image issues.

'Well I am entering my fifties, so your body confidence isn’t that good,' admitted the brunette beauty.

'I think it depends on the day, for everybody, there’s some days you say, "This is it," and you love it. Then there are days when you go, "This can not be it! Is this really it?" So I think it’s up and down all the time. 

'You have to get up and become your own work of art; from the moment you put yourself together,' she said.

'Not that I do it! I am quite lazy in the queen department. But celebrate who you are and celebrate life and know that this is your experience.'

Salma and Pinault married on Valentine's Day in Paris, France, in 2009, before hosting a second ceremony in Venice, Italy, two months later.

The actress and mother recently put her work commitments on hold to jet to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in support of her cousin's fight for gold at the 2016 Olympics.

She wrote on Instagram earlier this month: 'I'm excited to see my cousin, Yvonne Treviño Hayek, (who I haven't had the pleasure to meet yet) to compete representing Mexico for the long jump at the Olympics next week.'  

It seems sporting talent is something that runs in the Hayek family too, with Salma having been scouted to represent the Olympic gymnastics team of Mexico when she was a young girl. 

Salma has recently released animated adult comedy Sausage Party alongside Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill and Kristen Wiig, and dark fairytale drama Tale of Tales, which first debuted in Cannes last May.

The actress is now currently filming new indie flick Beatriz at Dinner alongside Chloe Sevigny, telling the story of a holistic medicine practitioner who ends up attending a wealthy family's dinner party after her car breaks down.
