Jesinta Campbell putting her international modelling career on hold by 'skipping' NY Fashion Week to support fiancé Lance 'Buddy' Franklin in Sydney Swans finals games

Jesinta Campbell will skip New York Fashion Week to attend her fiancé Lance 'Buddy' Franklin's AFL finals games, The Daily Telegraph reports.

The 25-year-old looked ready for international fame after signing with US-based modelling and talent agency IMG in June.

But it is claimed she will not be going to New York as expected because the week-long event conflicts with Buddy's AFL schedule.

Last month, Jesinta told the Herald Sun her modelling success means she can 'support' the couple.

She said: 'I feel like I can support myself and my partner, and life is easier. It feels light. It feels effortless.'

Jesinta also claimed she would like to see Buddy get more involved in the fashion industry as he's a 'natural in front of the camera'.

In September, Buddy stepped away from the Swans due to an 'ongoing mental health condition'.

But he made a triumphant return to AFL in March, scoring in the opening minute against Collingwood.

Jesinta loyally supported Buddy through his recent struggle and has since claimed he is making steady progress.

Earlier this year, Jesinta revealed on Today that she doesn't think 'you ever truly recover from a mental health issue'.

She added: 'It is really something that you battle with and challenge with every day.

'I think with anyone who struggles with mental health, it's a day-by-day thing. You just have to tackle the day and do the best that you can.

'It's hard and just because he is a sports star doesn't mean that he's bulletproof.'

Meanwhile, Jesinta's career has skyrocketed in recent years - going from teenage pageant queen to David Jones ambassador.

In June, she dropped her agent of six years Sharon Finnigan and signed with global powerhouse IMG.
