But with Hollywood heavyweights as both her parents and mentors Maude Apatow is well on her way to becoming a cinematic sensation.
The young actress was supported by her dad Judd Apatow, who gave her her first film roles, her mother Leslie Mann and sister Iris at the Hollywood premiere of her new film Other People on Wednesday.

The budding star wore an elegant lacy black camisole, a printed skirt, and strappy heels.
Her movie star mother Leslie, 44, looked gorgeous as ever in a black top, matching skinny jeans and booties.
While Judd, 48, wore his signature sneakers, jeans, and a blazer combo to the event.

Maude has a role in SNL writer Chris Kelly's film Other People.
The film centers on a comedy writer who moves back home to care for his dying mother amid the worst year of his life. It is slated for release on September 9 in the US.
Maude plays Alexandra in the drama, which also stars Molly Shannon, Jesse Plemons and Bradley Whitford.

Judd cast her and her sister Iris, now 13, as Leslie's daughters in Knocked Up (2007), Funny People (2009) and This Is 40 (2012).
The famed director shared a story of how he extracted such realistic performances out of his girls in This Is 40.
'They're not scared that cameras are around,' Apatow prevously told The Hollywood Reporter.
'They get sucked into what their real problems are with each other. Like, they're so annoyed with each other that they're not distracted by the fact that they're shooting a movie and it needs to go well, they're more concerned about whatever argument I'm trying to make them have on camera.'
