Sofia Richie picks the men closest to her, such as her boyfriend Justin Bieber, for her shopping companions.

And on Friday, she moved from flame to family.

The 18-year-old was spotted strolling in Beverly Hills with her smiling father, the legendary singer Lionel Richie.

Roughly a week before, she'd been for a spree with Bieber, who whisked her into Barneys New York's outpost in the same neighbourhood.

Yet this Friday, she opted for the far more experienced performer, who matched a blue T-shirt with blue jeans and blue and white trainers.

The 67-year-old accessorised with a large cross and aviator sunglasses, as well as multiple bracelets and rings.

Meanwhile, his daughter was prepared for fall, wearing a boxy red sweater with a Native American's face on the front. A purse slung over her shoulder, she wore skintight grey jeans that emphasised her toned legs.

Black buckled leather shoes with pictures of roses on them rounded out the ensemble, along with sunglasses, a choker and a purse.

With a Roberts Optical bag dangling from his hand, the All Night Long singer took his daughter up the road from the eyewear shop to Pressed Juicery.

The model is the product of the Truly singer's nine-year second marriage to Diane Alexander. After producing the now 22-year-old Miles Brockman Richie, and then Sofia, their relationship collapsed and their divorce was finalised January 2004.

The young star who is allegedly dating Justin Bieber donned a laid back ensemble in the form of ripped grey jeans and a sweatshirt for her outing, a casual yet cool ensemble.

The Sorry singer's family day capped off a bit of a rough week, during which he apologised on Twitter for his Thursday morning appearance on BBC Radio 1.

Though fans were effusive about his musical performance on Live Lounge Month, with one tweeting that his 'live lounge performance was faultless,' his interview drew rather more scorn.

His answers to Clara Amfo tended toward the strained and taciturn. At one point, when prodded on what his song What Do You Mean? was about, he replied: 'I think it's self-explanatory.'

Even some at BBC Radio 1 grew snippy at the singer. Presenter Greg James tweeted: 'What a way to start #LiveLoungeMonth but I hope there's a stiff drink for @claraamfo after that interview. She handled it brilliantly'.

The recriminations became so fierce that Bieber himself tweeted: 'I don't usually get nervous but tonight I was thrown off and I was. Sorry about that. Really wanted to be my best. Hope u all had fun'.
