On Wednesday Netflix confirmed the supernatural drama Stranger Things will be back for a second season of nine episodes.

Set int he small town of Hawkins, Indiana, in the 1980s, Ryder plays a working class single mother whose young son goes missing.

With its nostalgia for a bygone time pre cell phones and computer games, and with a soundtrack of oldies but goodies, the series won over fans in quick order.

The show's creators Matt and Ross Duffer spoke about their plans for a follow-up at the TCA press tour in July, explaining how 'there’s a bigger mythology' to explore.

The Duffers also revealed to EW.com that there will be four new characters and some new twists in season 2.
