Power execs 'turn Chris Brown away from Starz series because of anger issues... despite pal 50 Cent promising him a role'

It's been a dramatic couple of days for Chris Brown, who was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on Tuesday.

And now Page Six is reporting that, due to his anger issues, the 27-year-old has lost a potential role on Starz series Power.

Chris's pal 50 Cent, 41, had arranged for the starring role, but network execs allegedly stepped in to put a stop to that plan.

The Loyal singer was supposed to have a big role on Power, playing a drug dealer, a source close to the performer shared.

However, 50 Cent - real name Curtis James Jackson III - had failed to consult the network before promising the role to Chris.

'The network insisted that Chris’s casting was not going to happen, because of fears about his anger issues,' a source said.

'There was a big blowup, and they had to tell Chris he was not going to get the role. The news was delivered to him early Monday. He was livid.'

Despite the network's response, 50 Cent still told Page Six: 'Tune into Power next season, because you will see Chris Brown.'

Meanwhile, the following day at 3am aspiring actress Baylee Curran called police on Chris, claiming he had pointed a gun at her after she was admiring a diamond necklace during a party at his home.

Chris denied police entry when they arrived, insisting on a search warrant, which caused an hours-long standoff at the singer's house.

He was later arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, before being released on a bail of $250,000.

His lawyer has since said that the gun threat had been 'fabricated.'
