The $50,000 baby! Lance Bass reveals plans to start a family with husband Michael Turchin... as they prepare to find the perfect surrogate

After two years of happy marriage they are ready for the next step - parenthood.

But as a same sex couple, Lance Bass and husband Michael Turchin need outside help to start their family.

Luckily the couple have found an 'amazing' surrogacy company to help them make their dream a reality - for a fee.

The NSYNC member, 37, expects to spend around $50,000 per child, he explained on the Allegedly podcast on Tuesday.

'I imagine we would probably start the process early next year,' he said, saying that their surrogate would either be their child's biological mother, or use a donor egg.

And Bass has been taking recommendations from his celebrity chums.

'There’s an amazing company that a lot of people have been using — Neil Patrick [Harris] and everyone used this company,' said the 37-year-old.

'They set you up with a surrogate, and there’s all different ways of doing it. Surrogates that you never have to meet, which of course, I want them in my life. I want to know who’s donating the egg.'

After choosing their surrogate, Bass and his husband will have further decision to make.

He said: 'You can have twins. You can make sure that one is mine and one is Michael’s. I mean, there’s so much you can do.'

Bass said he had been waiting for the 'perfect' time to start a family - but realised that was impossible.

'There’s never a time to really plan to have a kid,' he said. 'You just gotta jump in.'

And he added: 'All my friends are having their kids, and I want my kids to grow up with them. And now they’re getting on their second kid and I’m still not on my first [and] I’m like, "Damn it!"

'So I imagine we would probably start the process early next year.'
