Devious Maids cancelled by Lifetime after four seasons amid low ratings

Lifetime has cancelled Devious Maids.

The decision not to renew the show comes a couple of weeks after the fourth season ended its run on the network, Deadline revealed.

The work of Desperate Housewives creator Mark Cherry, Eva Longoria was among the show's executive directors.

Devious Maids starred Roselyn Sánchez, Dania Ramírez, Ana Ortiz and Judy Reyes.

Previous cast members included Naya Rivera.

It was the first all-Latina ensemble show on English language television. 

The four main characters were maids united by their jobs, and the dramas of their employers.

First developed by ABC, Devious Maids moved to Lifetime after the pilot, and the first season finale brought in a respectable 3million viewers.

Ratings dropped steadily, however, with just under a million tuning in for the fourth season.
