Mel B was proof on Thursday night, her knockout abs visible through the sheer middle portion of her black unitard.

The 41-year-old was spotted strolling down Sunset Boulevard with her husband Stephen Belafonte and her children, all of whom were celebrating the baby of the family's fifth birthday.

The woman once known as Scary Spice tied a red and black tartan shirt about her waist, emphasising her taut torso as she led her family to the Italian restaurant Serafina.

She slung a cross-body purse over her tracksuit, which framed her sculpted legs before plunging into her pink and gold trainers. Her hair flowed back from a bump.

The I Want You Back singer walked alongside Madison, the birthday girl, who's her third daughter overall but her first by Belafonte.

Her dashing husband, who was seen sipping what looked like a refreshing beverage, looked trendy with his white dress shirt was partly unbuttoned to reveal a tangle of gold necklaces.

A zaffre blazer with a black collar added a splash of formality to the ensemble, which also featured torn grey jeans and black leather shoes.

A male friend of theirs was also a member of the dinner party, wearing a white sweatshirt over grey jeans and flip flops.

Madison's parents married in 2007, but Melanie Brown's previous liaisons have given her two other daughters, who accompanied their sister out for her festivities.

Phoenix, 17, was the result of the former Spice Girl's marriage to backup dancer Jimmy Gulzar, which lasted from 1998 to 2000.

Nine-year-old Angel is Mel B's daughter by Eddie Murphy, whom the Leeds native dated for a time.

The night of Madison's birthday, her mother posted an Instagram photo of the new five-year-old in a party dress and tiara, gaping with glee at a cake festooned with frosting roses.

'Happy birthday Madi yippppppeeeee,' the proud mum captioned the picture.

Earlier that day, her primogenitrix was all about bolstering her bombshell credentials.

Posting a photo of the outfit to Instagram, she wrote: 'Walking into @serafinasunset in my 6inch purple heels and latex like no body's business #beyoncelyricsallday.'

Only the previous day, Brown had given her daughter a preemptive birthday treat.

The Tell Me songstress brought Madison, in yet another voluminous party dress, to the set of America's Got Talent.

The two posed on a red carpet outside the set of the programme the Today singer has co-judged since 2013. Mel B rocked a slinky white cocktail dress, but it was her cute-as-a-button youngest who pulled focus.

The former Dancing With The Stars Australia hostess posted an Instagram photo of them on the carpet together, captioned: 'Take your kid to work day in full effect @nbcagt my baby Madi Bears.'
