It has been just weeks since Sia dropped her last hit, Cheap Thrills.

And on Monday, the Australian singer released her newest track, The Greatest, as well as the highly anticipated video clip.

The four-minute screenplay feature's teenager dancer, Maddie Ziegler who rose to fame in 2014 after appearing in Sia's video for Chandelier.

The latest video shows Maddie leading a group of children and adults through an intense dance routine, as they burst through jail cell doors.

In one scene, the young star pulls her cheeks down, to widen her eye sockets before breaking down into tears.

The track, which is yet to hit the iTunes charts, also features rapper Kendrick Lamar but he does not appear in the video clip.

Sia notified her fans of the new release, posting to her Twitter account during the early hours: 'I’m free to be the greatest here tonight. Watch the video for Sia's new single The Greatest @VEVO #weareyourchildren.'

Fans were quick to take to Twitter to voice their opinion on the latest track.

One follower posted: 'I LOVE it! This is AWESOME!!! Sia is the greatest singer and the little Maddie is a wonderful dancer and actress!'

Sia is currently on tour in America and it is unknown whether she will bring her stage show to her home country of Australia.
