'Birthday bunch!' Charlie Sheen turns 51 and celebrates with ex-wife Denise Richards, their daughters and a pal

He's had a tough few months.

But things seem to be looking up for Charlie Sheen, who turned 51 on Saturday and celebrated with his ex-wife Denise Richards and their girls, Sam and Lola, plus Denise's adopted daughter Eloise.

It's 10 months since the star revealed that he is HIV-positive during a visit to the Today Show.

But it seems everyone in his second wife's family has adapted to his health status.

They all smiled happily as they stood in front of a private jet with a pal, in an Instagram snap that Charlie posted on Sunday captioned: 'Birthday bunch.'

Charlie looked fit and healthy in a grey T-shirt with a shield on the front, sand-coloured shorts and black sneakers, as he wrapped one arm around his ex.

The 45-year-old kept it simple in an olive green vest, black leggings and neon yellow sneakers with her blonde hair smoothed back into a high pony tail.

Sam, 11, wore a blue and white patterned T-shirt with black trousers and black sneakers.

Her 10-year-old sister Lola, a brunette like her dad, opted for a grey T-shirt and washed out jeans with black sneakers and white laces.

Five-year-old Eloise looked cute in a pink hoodie that she wore over a grey T-shirt and black leggings plus white sneakers.

On Saturday Charlie also shared an Instagram snap of himself ready to eat a birthday cheeseburger.

Missing from the family get together were Charlie's seven-year-old twin boys Bob and Max, with third ex-wife Brooke Mueller, and 30-year-old Cassandra from his relationship with his high school sweetheart Paula Speert, who was born when Charlie was just 19.

The happy family snap comes after it was reported last week that Denise and Brooke, 39, had agreed to reduced child support payments.

The celebrity is reportedly struggling with financial problems.

Both women 'agreed to around $25,000 a month,' which is nearly half of the $55,000 a month they had been receiving to cover child-care costs, according to a report by TMZ.

Charlie was the highest paid actor on television in 2010 when he commanded $1.8 million per episode of Two And A Half Men, before his contract was terminated amid reports of drug and alcohol abuse and a public meltdown.
