Lindsay Lohan is getting 'very serious' with Dennis Papageorgiou, the 'man who saved her' from an explosive beach row with former fiancé earlier this summer.

The actress, 30 - who called time on her troubled relationship with Egor Tarabasov, 23, in July after a series of public rows - is said to have met her new beau at her 30th birthday celebrations in Mykonos when she was still with Egor.

And after being spotted together on the Greek island last week, Lindsay and the restaurant owner are said to be 'taking things seriously' as they progress from friendship to romance, reports The Sun.

A source told the publication: 'Egor showed his true colours in a series of blazing rows, and Dennis did too with how he stepped in to help.

'Lindsay says they are very serious and she's been referring to him as the man who saved her from Egor.

'It's a weird scenario to meet in but they're taking things seriously. Lindsay is hoping this is a start of a more healthy relationship.'

The newspaper claims Dennis has even split from his long-term model girlfriend Noelle Koutra to be with her.

MailOnline has contacted a representative for Lindsay Lohan for comment.

Lindsay and Egor began dating last year and got engaged in April.

But things had turned sour by July, when police were called to the Mean Girls star's London home to reports of a raging argument.

Lindsay previously accused her former fiancé of being abusive towards her and claims she is scared of him.

She told the Mail On Sunday: 'I realise now you can't stay in a relationship just for love.

'No woman can be hit and stay with that person if that person isn't prepared to say sorry.'

It was during a holiday to Mykonos last month that things took a turn for the worse for Lindsay and Egor, with pictures surfacing of the pair having a fight on the beach.

The couple got into a rough tussle after they argued in a black 4x4.

The former child star hurled his mobile phone on the sand and fled the car. He chased her, grabbed her roughly from behind in an attempt to grab the handset back and twisted her arm behind her back.

Lindsay and Egor were said to have been together for a year before calling it quits, with the star posting to Snapchat in July: 'I guess I was the same at 23… S***ty time-it changes at 26/27 @e2505t thanks for not coming home tonight. Fame changes people.'

Lindsay then accused Egor of cheating on her with a hooker, as she posted a video of the star partying, according to E!

At the end of the month, following the couple's public fights, she posted an update on Instagram, writing: 'Dear friends. I'm good and well. #ATM I am taking time for myself with good friends. Maybe things can be fixed... Maybe not.. I hope they can.'
